Surely you cannot be silly enough to believe that a multinational corporation is "American"? Pu-leaze. During WWII a number of "American" companies aided and abetted the German war effort, particularly in occupied countries. Truman/Atcheson/somebody quashed a project investigating such activities in 45 or 46 that would have named a number of the largest American banks as outright colaborators in France ... and not passive, tacit collaborators either.
