Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
http://www.orm.com.br/projetos/olibe...&codigo=444263
Apparently he promoted a lot of US based sponsors and he didnt have the records to prove the models werent under age. It now seems as though even in Brazil, having 2257 records is necessary. He even "linked back" to the sponsor's 2257 pages. Not good enough for the Brazilian authorities. I never thought this would happen outside the US, but in my opinion if you have content you need to have the records to protect yourself. Or at least demand that the sponsors have the records available via a third party record keeper so that if you need it, you can get it at a moments notice. We were just contacted at www.2257Safe.com by another Brazilian webmaster this week over this very issue, so things might be getting hot in Brazil over this. |
Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
I dunno, when I translate it to english, he appears to have been charged with "arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of disclosure, transmission pipelines and other images or videos containing erotic images of children and adolescents on the Internet".
Let me post the translation: Quote:

If he would have had access to the docs, he probably could have shown the IDs of models to prove their ages. |
Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
Again, I read the story and it suggests that he was running possibly a traffic exchange program that was trading links with CP sites. It read differently.

Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
Its obvious he didn't pay off the right people or pissed someone off. Most likely the former. In Brazil, the law is just a vehicle for the authorities to take money. It could well be they "discovered" some cp on his computer. It is a hugely corrupt country. I made the mistake of renting a car and driving around Brazil and had to pay many "fines" for stupid shit. I am not talking about ten bucks a time, but 50 to a hundred bucks a pop. So 2257 records wouldn't mean shit to them.

It looks like he's going to need them now. Eventually this is going to happen here in the US.... |

I get pulled over on a big four lane divided highway and taken to the Atco trailer at the sided of the road where there are four cops with lots of scrambled egg on their epaulets. They tell me my Canadian drivers license is not valid in Brazil. I know it is. I even have documents to prove this. They roll their eyes and tell me the fine is two hundred bucks. I discuss our situation with them, tell a few jokes, and the fine is reduced because they like me to a hundred bucks. That is a huge amount of money. Had I chosen to push the issue, cocaine or marijuana would have been discovered in my pockets and that would probably have cost me a thousand bucks. That, btw, is the going rate. So, no matter what the law states and no matter how many 2257 docs you can turn up....as long Quote:

Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
If I were him.... I would rather have the docs than not have them. And as a lawyer I would be giving him the same advice.
And if I were a lawyer in Brazil I would probably also be asking how much he has for a "donation". I wouldnt want to depend on just one or the other. BTW Cops arent prosecutors and they arent Judges. Granted all may be "dirty" in Brazil but I still would want evidence that the girls werent minors. |

Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
Me thinks you aren't being very wide in your thinking.
perhaps he is promoting US sponsors. Great. However, was he also using the images to link to or blind link (aka TGP traffic trade) with sites that might be CP sites, example? Many people do this sort of thing, unwittingly ending up trading traffic with CP pushers. There are plenty of CP gangs out there that use TGP toplists as a way to sneak in and steal traffic, getting honest webmasters in deep shit, often unknowningly trading traffic with some of the biggest scum around. As a side note, the CP sites are often NOT true CP sites, rather just a billing gateway to get CC information and scam people in other ways. It's a perfect way to collect fully valid CC and personal information, which in turn makes CC fraud on honest adult affiliates programs possible. People who got scammed by trying to sign up to CP are much less likely to contact authorities. So as we don't have the true story, just "friends of friends of a friend in Brazil", I would mark this thread down more as an attempt to sell 2257 services than to really inform us. |

The translation of the text in the article:
Operation 'Big Bad Wolf', the Office for the Repression of Crimes Technology (DRCT) connected with the Enforcement Division Organized Crime (DRCO) yesterday arrested a man accused of disseminating child and teen pornography over the Internet. The Para Reynold Wiec Junior, 44, was caught red-handed in the neighborhood of Castanheira, in Bethlehem, and had a computer and two hard drives seized. He was investigated for two months by the staff of the operation, which aims to reduce the incidence of this type of pornography on the web. The delegate Beatriz Machado, director of ESRD, together with researchers Durans, Alberto, Carla, Everaldo, Queiroz and Leonardo were responsible for the prison. The delegate explained that Reynold created adult porn sites and legal, and registered the domain and then sell them. The crime is the fact that it makes available links on the pages created that 'called' to a porn site juvenile. The names links all suggest that attraction there were teenagers in erotic images. He denied knowing the content of linked sites, but it is very difficult to be true. He even wore a software created by a friend who is a developer who updates the images almost every day and allows the webdesigner choose what is published or not, "complains Beatriz Machado. The accused confessed that he lived on the creation of these sites for at least six years and said he earned for each access that was done to the sites. 'He said he has four sponsors, and only one was Brazilian, the rest was American groups. The exchange ran as follows: the sponsor bank displayed a picture in exchange for a disclosure on the site, the other sponsor's products, especially those that relate to dating agencies. With each new record, trading and settlement, the Reynold was with 30% profit sponsor, "said the delegate. Reynolds was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of disclosure, transmission pipelines and other images or videos containing erotic images of children and adolescents on the Internet relating to a new article (2008) of the Child and Adolescent (ECA). He must be transferred today to an incarceration and made available to the Justice System. |
Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
I'm perfectly happy to hear stories like these, and have a lawyer peddle his wares to be here.
We occasionally get useful information, or have a chance to ask simple questions. So what if he brings stories that are about his area. I'd do the same thing. |

My opinion, ware peddling or not, is that if he had docs & IDs it might have turned out differently. Take it for what its worth - its just an opinion. You obviously have yours. |

But, it still is somewhat on point I think.....because- Of course they would accuse them of CP, but IF they had 2257, they could prove non-CP. I realize this isn't worth arguing about, and I'm just rattling here. (There just aren't any other topics a hoppin') :okthumb: |

Damn, that's scary. Bad enough thinking like a lawyer, but HAVING a lawyer in my head? Gives me the gonzos. (They're like the "willys," only worse) |

I stand by my original thought. You guys are thinking first world. Especially Alex. You gotta think this is a bongo country. Bongo police. Bongo government. Bongo courts. When you apply your standards to bongo, it is a complete disconnect. None of this discussion makes much sense if you think.........guess what.....bongo.

Re: Brazilian Webmaster Arrested for Promoting US Sponsors
Bottom line: Brazil isn't the best locale to push pron from, and if you do you'd best stay well away from teen sponsors or anything extreme.

I would never produce porn in any bongo country for that reason. Even the folks that do it in Thailand are skating on thin ice. I personally like Canada to produce porn. Its safe. Its first world. And no one bothers us. No bubba sheriff would stand a chance. |
