Yeh, based on her post count, I don't think she's really pulling a stunt - I think she's really offended by the whiff of impropriety and anything linking her visuals to something she feels deeply about. She's pretty strong willed - one would have to be to run a porn site as granola as hers is without folding immediately.

She is the real deal and has a very long history and a business plan she has stuck to all along. I would say she makes way more money than 99 per cent of those wankers who posted on tha thread. She is rightfully outraged, knowing how political she is, but gfy was the wrong venue to vent.

As I said in the thread . . .

Her site converts on a lot better ratio than you can imagine.
Xbiz has already said she was right - they ripped her off for an example of a pedo site.
God knows we've seen fully grown men cry about a lot less on here...

Shes a smart and tenacious lady that says what she thinks instead of crying "post proof or be banned."

And I remember how many guys were trolling her a few years ago at Internext Vegas.

And Ill add here that many of us have known her for years and know thats just her. Shes managed to make a solid living on doing nothing but this and staying true to her convictions.

I dont know many people like that anymore.

Gonzo, I have said before and I will say again: If she managed to allow for other people's opinions and other people sometimes being right, she would be doing even better than she is. In a business where having friends is key, she manages to shun so many. Perhaps it is just staying true to her convictions, whatever. More power to her if she can keep it up.

I do tend to find her and Trixie and some of their friends a little too sensitive to comments made by others. Xbiz was wrong to use any part of her site in a montage, but honestly, I cannot picture anyone either (a) seriously thinking for a second she has anything to do with CP, and (b) being able to even connect enter and leave buttons with her site without serious prompting. Major bad by Xbiz, and something that likely could have been resolved just by contacting Xbiz and having that page of their online magazine changed quickly and discreetly. So perhaps a drama thread on GFY wasn't the best way to get it resolved (most people wouldn't have ever noticed, I don't think).

Maybe it's an old fashioned use of piss to get attention? ;)

I honestly don't think she gives a flying squirt what the mainstream porn world thinks of her - and why would she? Her market isn't going to be a fan of it either. Even hippies yank it, and I don't think she wants to do "better" by the standards of the industry at large. Further, if she did, I suspect she'd lose a significant portion of her member base, who I would presume are pretty loyal 'cos there's not much out there for them.

On the other hand, if you don't work within the mainstream confines, and you know you're a "small" player in the grand scheme, you also know that Xbiz isn't going to listen if you call - but they will pay attention to board drama that calls them into question.

I tend to agree with Liz more.
I dont think either ladies give a shit positive or negative about what any of us think.

I sort of go along this line: If you don't want to be in the porn business, don't be in it. Stay away. I am trying to remember the term used to describe the porn business, and it wasn't very nice. I have to disagree. There seems to be a misconception in the lion's share of the market that there is only one way to "do porn."

FurryGirl may be strident, and she may not like the majority of how the industry is run, but that doesn't mean she hasn't got a right to indulge her exhibitionism or make money from it (which still qualifies as porn, by definition) just because she doesn't want to be part of how the rest of it is run. I can understand why someone with her targeted demographic would choose to disassociate herself from the bulk of the business.

That's kinda the beauty of the business though -- there is room for her to be part of it in the way she sees fit. And honestly, I don't see her using many of the industry resources - until such time as she posted on The Zoo about the xbiz appropriation, she had about 12 posts over there. She operates in her own way, with her own marketing efforts, and really doesn't have much to do with the bulk of the industry.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think that may be a significant portion of why the Hateorade got brought out.

Over the years, I think 90% of the guys I've known or seen on-line are actually afraid of women! They are so afraid, they end up having to trash the women in order to feel better about themselves and their "short-comings". They get so used to belittling them on-line and not thinking of women as people that they almost shit themselves when they meet a real live woman in person!

Carol and I used to go to the shows and watch how many of the guys interacted with women. It reminded me of the really geeky guys at a high school dance! The guys that spouted the most shit on-line were the biggest pussies when it came to actually talking to a woman! ;)

For the most part there isn't any hating on the way they do business, or their chosen markets, or whatever. In the same way I don't really give a specific crap about some of the content out there (I just don't list it, link it, or promote it). If she has an affiliate program, which she indeed does, then hell yes I'm someone she should be marketing to.

I'm simply not going to promote a site where the owner has utter disdain for the very webmasters sending them traffic. Her site doesn't fit the niches I promote anyway, but I do have a babe/pornstar site and I refuse to promote Mariah Milano for exactly the same reason.

I would agree it has been a good thread. The only sour note, and its something that I consider a low blow, that got glossed over was the 2257 remark. That still sucks and should not be ignored or overlooked. Its was a tactic used on the "old" Oprano should not be tolerated.....ever on this useful shiny new Oprano. I am surprised that no one wanted to touch that.
