Jace's tip for marketing a solo girl site - Tip #1

With the recent explosion of "myspace" alternatives, it is important for those girls/webmasters to realize what an important tool they are for marketing yourself or your solo girl. They can be a lot of work at first, but once you get the flow down it is just another task to add to your daily routine....

My first tip is regarding comments. Everyone has seen that little space on peoples profiles where you can add comments about that person, you can actually add in html into your comments, so why not spice it up a bit and not only make the person you are adding the comment for happy, but also sell yourself?

Let's take xpeeps as an example since we have had tons of talk about it around here lately.

I run my wife Tabitha's profile, she responds to all the emails and posts in the forums and stuff herself, but I do the friend adding and extra stuff, just because she has no clue how to do much in html. When someone comes to ask me to be their friend I NEVER set the option to auto-approve, I wanna personally add each person...why though? Let me tell you my process...

I go to her "Friends Request" panel and see 15 people per page, so I right click on each friend and open each friend in a new window, so that I end up having 15 windows open. I then select the option to "Approve All (On This Page)", then I minimize or close the friends requests window, because I don't need it anymore.

Next I go to each profile that I have open in those 15 windows and select "Post A Comment". Then I enter 1 of 5 comments that I have created previously and keep in a txt document on my desktop...and each comment that I have created previously has coded into it a pic thanking them, my web address, my profile address, and a link to my auctions currently at estarbids

Want to see an example of the comment I leave? http://www.xpeeps.com/member.php?u=36633 ....you can't miss it, it says "wish you were here"

Once I see that window that says "thanks for leaving a comment" (or something like that) I close the window

every single person that adds me (over 700 so far) has that ad for 1. my wife's profile, 2. my wife's website and 3. my wife's auctions right on the front of the profile page...that is like 700 mini ads on a site that has over 60k members right now :)

it takes a few times to get it right, but once you do it takes about 30 minutes each day depending on how many friend requests you get...Tabitha is getting about 30+ friend requests a day, so that is 30 people a day that I am turning on to her site :)

Thats awesome Jace. Yeah I know how it works im just still setting up my pages and my ads. Im going to wait to post the thankyou comments until my pay site is up so I have some actual use for the traffic.

Then I'm going to go crazy with it.

Myspace also has the addeveryone.com thing. I'm adding all the bands because I'm thinking mostly they are all over 18 and them and their fans will probably like porn girls and of course linking up with the other webgirls. After that I'll let all the horny guys trying to get laid on there find me.

Have you tracked your traffic from there to see if you are getting any joins?

Sabby:flash:

I am in the process of it, I am using my nscash tracking code this month just so I can use the nscash.com stats interface to accurately track stats and stuff like that

I will be posting my result april 24th, that will be the one month mark from what I started using all the tracking codes

granted, I am not expecting to see many sales, we are using xpeeps for the branding and name recognition aspects of it...the more we get her name out there, the more of a household porn name it will be :) and everyone that remembers a name and likes paysites, will join eventually, but not always right away

Well look at this nice comment I got on my xpeeps page already!

"Thanks for adding me. I'm really looking forward to the grand opening of your new site. My surfers are going to eat you up, should make us both a few $$$."

Good ideas Jace, thanks!

I have mine set to autoapprove right now, only because of the slowdowns and problems experienced in the first few months, it was difficult to get through all of the problems & slowness -- plus there wasn't an "approve all on this page" at that point. I'll probably pick a day to go through and add a special "Happy Friday" or some such message to everyone's posts soon, as I'm personally not a big fan of "thanks for the add" type messages.

The having five different pre-set comments sounds like a good way to go...

I think what I'll do is have several of them for the "friends" and then once I launch an affiliate program, send a message to my xpeeps...

Okay done rambling! :)

"Post your own CSS here to modify the appearence of your profile. No HTML entered into this will print on the page."

take a look at my wifes xpeeps profile, see how customized it is? that is all done with css....xpeeps has a customizing xpeeps forum, and you can get all kinds of great tips and tricks in there, I am not sure if myspace does, but the same codes generally apply to myspace, they are just named differently

Okay thanks!

I just grabbed a myspace layout from pimp-my-profile but it embeds shit in your page. Myspace also doesnt have the customize layout section you just put the html in the 'about me' section.

I'll check out the forum on xpeeps and try and do it myself.

Sabby:flash:

you can get rid of the embedded stuff in the profile

check this out

Code:

There is no way to change the pic gallery page?

well, if you are in jayman's program, his crew created it

but that won't do you anymore good than just opening an image in photoshop and throwing some text on it

But for some reason I'm just really picky with who I have on there, plus I truly dislike the "THANKS FOR THE ADD" crap that sometimes takes up half my profile with the pictures,ARRGGG I hate that...lol

I'm starting to think that just a nice friendly text comment might actually be more efficient and get you more clicks to your page. They still see your pic in your avatar and will click if they want to find out more about you. If they see your add they already know your a webgirl and it looks like your just spamming their page.

Damn guys keep posting these huge dick pics all over my page (the pic is huge not the dick haha). It just messes up my page and annoys me.

Sabby:flash:

I get about 10-20 clicks a day to tabitha's site from the Visit My Website link that I leave in comments

remember, while you want them to visit your profile, the ultimate goal ALWAYS is to get them to the first page of your site

I think I would rather they land on my profile page first. Its a little more personal and I can sell them on either my site, my movies, or my cam shows.

Or other things.

You know what I hate? Always around Internext time you get these random emails from amateurs you've never even talked to before asking you if you want to hook up for a shoot. Which is the "professional" way I guess of asking someone to have sex with you. Its like a mass email spamming for sex partners.

That is just so icky! LOL.

Sabby:flash:

why do you hate that? everyone has to work and they have to let people know about them some way or another....my wife and i used to send out a mass email to all the talent and producers any time we wanted some work

We still have girls to this day that email and ask if we want to shoot with them...just part of the business

it is the same as a producer emailing and asking for talent, but this is the talent asking for a producer

Truce? When was that? Jerk off to your picture. Don't flatter yourself. Sabby, you will always be a wannabe in this business. You run a freeking webcam site out of your basement. 1. want to shoot with you
2. want you to shoot with them
or
3. want you to work for them
I am just taking this from our conversation here...and to be honest, that is pretty wierd...why would you get into the adult biz and get naked if you didn't want to be sought after? i can't count the # of emails, phone calls and even snail mail letters that my wife gets on a weekly basis trying to get her to work for them, shoot with them, or shoot with her...it is all just part of the game

I didnt say it made me mad. I just said it was weird. Since I'm a random spam though I just ignore their email.

I do get mad when people try and bullshit me and tell me they are someone they are not though.

And usually if they find a girl who is on a site she is already under contract with someone else and they are trying to steal someone elses talent.

Use a talent agency.

Sabby has no idea of what she is talking about. Ergo this discussion is useless. Sabby is a wannabe web girl that has been around for a lot of years and has never made a pot to piss in. How the fuck can somebody that has been around this long be such a loser? Because she has no idea how to run a successful business on the internet. End of story. The best she can do is to, in her own words "be a girl". Well that and $4.50 will buy you a grande caramel macciatto at Starbucks. But it will not pay your rent.

Either he goes or I go.

Sabby, you have been harrassing me for years. Get a grip doll. Don't do the girly thing when you run up against it again. You are a nasty piece of work. You have threatened me. You have dogged me. You have tried to make my life miserable by calling me a stalker when you harrased me no end. Now you have the audacity to whine like a child because it has caught up with you. I have never met such a loser on the net.

Sabby, the next time you can afford a greyhound to Vancouver, let me know. I will buy you a triple o at the white spot. No need to thank me. I will toss in a glass of merlot. That is pronounced mer-loh.
