Dianna's ~ posts
I noticed she loves to put the ~ sign in her posts.
I reminded me of the days when websites all had the tilde. We had a site ix.netcom.com/~theman/amateurindex Anyone remember how prevelant the ~ were? Hell it took me 5 minutes to find the ~ on my new laptop! |

Yes I am - I tend to put hypens - in my remarks because I ramble and do not like to use proper punctuation - I dunno - it works for me.

Re: Dianna's ~ posts
I remember back in the BBS days when we made ansi graphics using all kinds of symbols. That was some time consuming shit. I use to have a hypodermic needle that was stuck into a modem and it said INJECT YOUR MODEM WITH KINK or some crap like that. It blinked, had colors and everything.

Re: Dianna's ~ posts
I still use "~".
In unix, you can use it to quickly move to any user's directory, which is why it was also used by webservers to do much the same thing. cd ~user Puts you in "user"s home directory....if you have sufficient privs. |
Re: Dianna's ~ posts
I love ascii art. I had to take a DOS class, which, as you can probably imagine, was a sheer slice of heaven.
Some guy did have a very cool final project. He did an animated Christmas scene. It rocked. |
Re: Dianna's ~ posts
My first site was with a ~.
www.flanet.com/~wiggly Mr Wiggly on the prowl! Heck I remember at CE even one of the heavy hit sites, Girls of Cybererotica used a Tilda.. |
