can someone please get oprano off boardtracker?
 

I really truely think that some of the non-industry folk that are showing up are because of that site...it is now a surfer service, and oprano is listed in the general adult category

I appreciate both of yours concern and whats more I value your input.
However...I got Oprano back on Boardtracker shortly before I left. Boardtracker is a very valuable tool to some people in this industry but like many crucial tools it can and has been abused in a number of ways.

Ill be honest with you though you cant attribute this influx of new faces to Boardtracker instead look to Xpeeps. Our partnership with AEBN has allowed us to be the sponsor of the business forum there. And there are a ton of people curious about this business. I can think of no better place to get them started than Oprano.

Theres a new board created it seems every week. The notion of swiping personalities and posters that you see on other boards is not a very good business model as far as Oprano is concerned.

The only way to get fresh new people in this business that have not been spoiled with visions of free content, free hosting, free free free free free... is to create them from scratch.

Each and everyone of us started out as surfers before getting into this business. In my case the rights back in the very first of it was to have a "homepage".

No worries as for this turning into a free for all where we have such valued posts as "Can You Still Blow Your Load While Your Dog Watches" or the attention whore post of "POST PICTURES OF YOUR CELL PHONE".

Every board attracts a few lookie loos or people that are obsessed with the business but dont have enough going to get in. Hell I ran the last one off into a trailer to the desert in California.

But as you can see shes been replaced by another from Georgia that isnt even smart enough to sigwhore for an online pharmacy. Being optimistic maybe they will get it or go about their way.

One thing is for sure... currently we dont have anything to help the aspiring webmaster along. But weve been making progress on that and will announce real soon.

In the meantime theres gonna be more spam and morons. We will endveour to keep the noise to conversation ratio at bearable levels.

Jace and Sin... what can we do to help you guys in this business?

two things I can think of to help me when it comes to oprano and us as a whole

1. keep being my friend and business associate, i think we work well together and I would like to see that expand even further when I finally get this paysite relaunched

2. everyone should make a real effort to post one business thread a day, cause as much as I like to think i know everything, I don't...and nothing helps me more than a real focused business forum

Lately, I have been the first to admit that as well as I thought I knew the whole paysite side of things, I don't know shit when I get compared to some of the bigger guys in the industry...and as nice as GFY is for instant gratification, oprano is a great place for real, seasoned, knowledge

one thing I have made an effort to do when it comes to posting business threads is to post questions I have off the top of my head while I am working on getting this site launched

even if I find the answer real quick, it makes for good business discussion in thread form

and as for the xpeeps thing and oprano being on there, I see two sides to that sword....and to be honest, I see more negative than positive from it....xpeeps is a great tool for driving traffic to paysites and places you wanna make money from...but I don't think oprano sponsoring one of the forums on there and having surfers click the links and come here is necessarily a good thing....I could be totally wrong though

all in all though, the influx of spammers and surfers is ereally not that bad, but I also think you all need to reconsider you policy of not banning....someone that comes and makes the regular users feel like shit after they do a drive by spam isn't going to end up being a valuable member of the community, ever....so I don't think they should be a allowed to be in this community

No reason for that to change. We have a project to get back to once we both finish with pay site projects. Im looking forward to see what youve been working on. Im glad to see that your wife has a renewed enthusiasm as well.

Business threads are a challenge. Some boards run contests just in the hopes of a single legit one being posted.

The problem is if you have a good idea and you mention it on a boardThere are those that will exploit it by saturating it into being useless or just totally copy it. Look at how many Xpeeps clones have popped up since Jan.

GFY used to be great for finding some cool new sponsors and such before the noise got so loud.

I pay attention to people that post and have a signature to a program I hadnt heard of. Thats something these Press Release whores with drive bys dont get.

We are working on some new tools like that to help folks out. But you know how busy folks can get when they are working on pay sites.
