My requirements are simple, if you have a restaurant in ellijay that meets them we'll gladly head up there sometime:

1) they must be open 24 hours.

2) they must have at least 40 fresh cakes and pies to choose from.

3) they must offer the "hellpuppy special": buffalo finger appetizer, greek salad, eggs scrambled with cheese, pancakes and bacon.

Any TRUE diner will server anything anytime...

Only one in town I've found that I dont really like is Landmark. The entertainment value of eating there at 4AM is absolutely outstanding, but I've eaten chili there twice and the neighbors have assured me they will burn my house down if I have it a third time.

Other than three dozen waffle houses, closest thing I know of in that area that is open all night would be Denny's on JCB (I can order breakfast in Spanish).

Georgia Diner (Pleasant Hill at 85) and either the IHoP or Steak n Shake on Roswell Road (or again Gwinnett) would be next closest I think.

Atlanta needs more all night food. We tried to hit Waffle House at 4:30AM a couple of weeks ago and said "fuck it" after failing to be able to get into 3 in a row and went to Georgia Diner. Actually the last one wasn't full, it just happened to be 120 degrees in there....looked like Kenyans running the joint and I swear the only open table was like sitting in a blast furnace.

The mandalay post I made yesterday is fact.

Every other booth here is some sort of paynent processor.

Nats has a new content management system looks great. 3 tiny mobile booths and a few die hards on vod that promise to take over the business. Look for more news to follow about that too.

Show is very productive. The show floors sucked yesterday. The registration is away from the floor. The people running registration are ruder this year than last.

The security doesn't grasp the concept of a superpass. Lots of confrontaions with rental guards and webmasters.

I practically have the Atlanta airport to myself.

Under 5 minutes to check in and clear security.

No line at baggage check in.

No line for the blind lady that makes sure the name on your boarding pass is spelled the exact same as the one in tiny print on your driver's license.

Kwaneesha who likes to let you know she's in charge at security was also in a good mood, no full cavity search today and they only briefly paused on the brief case full of hellpuppy photographic, pornographic, fantastic, rolling road show and hacking package.

And so far I've only had to scowl at one person for talking on their cell phone in the "quiet area" of the crown room.

I kind of felt the beginnings of a drug induced flashback when I first read the post, but at second going over it made some sense.

Especially the move of the show date. I would never be able to go to a show that close to the holidays. So a move to March would rock!
