Santa arrested for public intoxication
Santa arrested for public intoxication
By KIRK MCCRACKEN Herald Staff Writer One of Santa's helpers was not out spreading good cheer on Christmas morning. Instead he was arrested for destruction of city property and public intoxication. At 12:30 a.m. Sunday Sapulpa police officer Derrick Clayton was dispatched to the 1300 block of East Dewey on a disturbance complaint. When he arrived, the officer noticed James Lahl, 53, of Sapulpa, dressed as Santa Claus and hitting a street sign with another street sign. Lahl had pulled a no parking sign from the ground and was beating another sign with it. Clayton approached the not-so jolly St. Nick and smelled a strong odor of alcohol. Lahl was taken into custody. At the time of the incident, Lahl was wearing a Santa suit, hat, beard and gloves. Santa remains in jail today. http://www.sapulpadailyherald.com/lo...360123517.html |
