two: the number 2. It not used for anything else.
too: 1. In addition; also: He's coming along too.
2. More than enough; excessively: She worries too much.
3. To a regrettable degree: My error was all too apparent.
4 Very; extremely; immensely: He's only too willing to be of service.
Informal. Indeed; so: You will too do it!
to: is a preposition that can be used in so many ways, so just figure if it doesn't fir into the other two, use to.

Sex is also available. A lot of it. :yowsa:

Nick...in an odd way, your finger types what your brain mentally "hears" as you think. Therefore, a lot of "their/they're/there," etc., mistakes occur due to "sound." I do it ALL the time. Sometimes I catch it before I post, sometimes I edit quickly, and a lot of the time I just say "oh, the hell with it, somebody will enjoy harrassing me about it and I've provided a service." :)

Two is pretty easy as it deals with numbers.

I have two pieces of cake left.
I walked two miles to school.

Too always describes "also" or "in excess".

I want some ice cream too.
Your walkman is playing too loudly.

*Note the extra o as it should remind you that this word deals with adding more on to something.

To is used in all other cases.

Points to Red for going even further with that than I would have! :okthumb:

I'm doing very well. Had a ball out shopping with my husband this morning. (It's amazing what I can talk him into buying when he's late for work!) I got my annual angel, which always makes me happy. It will take some time, but eventually I want to be one of those daft old ladies who over-decorates for the holidays. :)

This was the very first time we've left our new Chihuahua alone while we *both* went out. The greeting when we came back was intense. :)

Tonda, meet Dingo. Half Chihuahua, half Dachshund. http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/smile.gif

Her new white sweater and her favorite toy...which she swiped from the cats. She loves cats. They're...confused. They know she doesn't mean any harm, but are still reluctant to play the "chase me, chase me!" game she keeps trying to get going.

Taking pics of her is difficult due to my damned camera. It has a "preflash" thing, which makes her look away immediately. I've gotten some great shots of the empty space where she used to be sitting.

There are certain words that my fingers have stumbled over since before my first "keyboard upgrade" was to an IBM Selectric I, even when I could crank out 85+ WPM on a manual typewriter.

Word processors (followed by computers) absolutely RUINED my spelling. I had average spelling skills until I joined the Navy. After boot camp and a basic school, I went to an advanced clerical school where whiteout was grounds for dismissal, and the words "there was a spelling error somewhere” were accompanied by the sound of the twelve page document being ripped up in front of your eyes.

This proved far more effective than only getting a blue star on the weekly spelling test, lemme tellya.

Morgan,

Thanks, and I'll be in touch. I actually didn't post this for any other reason than to make some people laugh. When talking with someone in PERSON, does one know when one uses Your, you’re, two, too, to, etc incorrectly? I think not therefore, My view on people misspelling things on the net, especially in Oprano's forum is a result of trying to type TO fast for their abilities, to excited to post their comments, or just careless typing, NOT that the person doing the typing is illiterate or stupid.
:hmm:

I don't understand this post.
Have I inadvertently offended you in some way?
I gave you points because I enjoyed your original post so much. I made a sexual remark, like I sometimes do.
I didn't state nor imply that anyone at all was illiterate or stupid.
What happened?

I loved that stuff! Grammar, spelling, punctuation...to me that was the 'math' part of English...there were right and wrong answers!

I hated comprehension, book reviews/analysis and creative writing...too airy fairy for me. Actually I didn't hate doing them, I hated being graded on them.:)
