Domain Backordering

Is there a guaranteed company you use, for backordering domains, that delivers everytime without fail?

Depends on which registrar that is releasing the domain :)

Thanks Rolo, so it does matter who you go with for backordering? I did a few with godaddy and lost them which I wasn't best pleased about ..

Re: Domain Backordering

GoDaddy have never really worked well for me (unless the domain registrar was GoDaddy).

More and more domains seam to be going where they know they will get the most for them - thats usual the big place(s), where it will end up in auction.

So, if you have your eyes set on a specific domain, then check who is the current registrar, and then do a quick search if they have any exclusive deals with a specific backordering service or network... if its a killer domain you really want, then you can also backorder it at as many backordering services as possible to better your odds, however be prepared to bring your checkbook, if its a hot domain everyone wants ;)

Excellent .. thank you very much indeed Rolo :) Appreciate the advice

Chequebooks seem to be the order of the day and I am not greedy .. I may have a few obsessions with domains but was just gutted about godaddy. It seems initially they were giving me every domain I went for; might just be that the names people are now looking for, happen to be the ones I am still after.

There is definitely "fashions" in the domain world, which can effect availability and the price...

Word of advice, if the domain goes into auction, then use the extra time to research the domain and the people you are bidding against - it will give you a better idea of what you are willing to pay for it, and what kind of tactic to use in the bidding process.

I like using the Domain Watch feature at Domain Name Systems to pick up something that I want that looks like it might not be renewed. :)
