Just Watched The Local News...

And Rita's path has been moved a bit more towards Louisiana(of course, it's already going to hit part of Louisiana)... The Gov. said that much of Louisiana will get hurricane force winds, some tropical storm force winds(which is what is suppose to be hitting us) and she said that a direct hit for Louisiana is looking like more of a possibility.

This thing is so big that no matter where it hits it's going to effect both Texas and Louisiana... But it's moving in a way right now where there is the possibility that it might get a little worse for us than we think, so, I will probably be glued tot he weather channel for most of the day so I can see what this thing is going to do...

And, I will also be going to get more candles and food and stuff in case we loose power again.

To all those out there that may also be effected by Rita, I wish you the best!

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

I know... From what I saw on the news, we should be seeing some rain soon too...

You're probably going to get a good bit of this one too Chris, so PLEASE, PLEASE get what you need and stay safe! We'll probably try to call/text you some time after the storm.

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

Thanks everybody *hugs*

I will let you know how things are after the storm if I have electricity... If I don't, I'll try to call or text somebody who can let you guys know how we are.
I'm about to go to the store so I can get the things we'll need to be prepared with.

Our shed is still wrapped around the tree... So, I guess we'll have to try to get it off before this thing hits too...

Ok, lots to do... I guess I'm going to go get started. Talk to you guys later on...

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

well being an andrew survivor i tell you this...

don´t stay home for this one.

go to a safe place. please..

i can go scientific on you but i wont just take good advice.

stay safe and keep us posted.

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

I went through Andrew too. I've lived in Louisiana my whole life and have been through several hurricanes, so I understand the potential dangers ahead, thank you for your well wishes ;)

I was trying to see what this thing was going to do before deciding whether or not to leave, but, after being on the Interstate today, I feel that it may already be too late to try to go.

I just got home from the store and it was raining so bad that you couldn't even see what was in front of your own car at some points(and it isn't even really here yet...)

So, rather than take the chance of getting stuck out there on the Interstate, I think it would be safer to just try to stay here.

Thank you EVERYBODY for the well wishes! I'll try to keep you all up-dated for as a long as I'm able to.

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

Me and mine are thinking about you and all of you guys out there right now. So many things crossed it's hard to type. :(

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

Stay safe you guys. I'm sending you lots of good thoughts and lots of love.

Re: Just Watched The Local News...

ok, we have 40 mph sustained at this point, no rain to speak of yet, but that's coming. We're expected to get 5" of rain between today and tomorrow

fun!
