...lost their cable today.
Well, *looks at the clock* Last night I guess...

No idea why, or for how long... but both their cable TV & their internet are offline.

Total separation from the outside world, I'd be going insane if it was me. :(

I hope all is well and they're back up and running quickly.

I don't know how they handle it LOL

My computer dropped all of its drivers on Saturday night (brand new computer) ...my old one had exploded... I had no internet for 3 days & was grouchy as hell for all of those days lol I also couldn't sleep... I still can't sleep, this sucks.

I'm happy to be able to be here to say that when I woke up I found we were back on-line!!! :lol:

It was SOOO weird last night, everything just cut off... We were trying to watch the news to see what the hurricane was doing and then all of a sudden the TV turned to static and the net went down... :huh:

But, now it's back up, so I'm happy about that! I'll be crossing my fingers to hope it doesn't do that again! LOL

You're addicted, I'm not. I don't know about WT, but the only thing that bothers me about not being able to be online is knowing I won't be getting work done....

When my husband first suggested (in that way that husband's "suggest" things) that we'd save money by getting Cox cable, Cox internet and Cox long distance, I made a lot of remarks about "putting all of one's eggs in one basket." Well, the day came. Every frigging thing went down. It was like one of those post-apocolyptic movies...are there any other humans alive out there??????

Yeah it can feel like that sometimes LOL

Unfortunately though... There's only 1 cable provider in this area, there is no option to have both, one or another... Just one choice if you want cable here.

I think the cable companies had some kind of "summit meeting" and split up the areas. I know there are other cable providers locally, but only in certain areas. We have no options, either.

From what I heard cox was suing charter because charter is a monopoly in the area. I wish cox would take over, faster net connection!!!

Don't you get a faster connection with them? Like up to 10megs? A guy that just moved into my area said he was on Cox and got 10mbps download. I forgot how much upload, but when I told him the upload speed for charter(250k) he said his backup was faster than that!

10mbps is for business accts, home accts are tapped at 5mbps (DL) and upload speeds arent much better then 350 kb/s
