My thoughts of a holing up in a secure log cabin in the mountains, AK's on the rack, and a Claymore perimeter with the contents of Serge's wine cellar seem to become more and more relevant.

Billy Joel could seriously do "We Didn't Start The Fire", based on the last 2 years and the bloody thing would have 73 verses and knock "American Pie" of the top spot on longest songs list.

The world hasn't changed much, we just get better coverage of the shit that happens in it. Plus the people that the shit usually happens to is the only real change.

Sometimes its easy to forget that we are just dots on the long line of human history. Thousands of years after we have died, then there will still be humans asking many of the same questions we and our ancestors have (oh, and those who think that it will all end with our generation - well even that you have in common with your ancestors who also thought they would be the last humans - you are living proof that they were wrong, and your children and their children will prove you wrong ;-)))
