I would like to state first and foremost, I am beyond impressed with our industry’s uniting of forces in an effort to help out those in the Gulf Coast region. As many of you know, Louisiana is my home state, seeing New Orleans in the grasp of such chaos and despair is heartbreaking.

This industry comes under fire from time to time, but when turbulent times arise, we are one impressive group. As many of you have seen, with the liberal help of Jettis and Epassporte, webmasters4america.com has been created as a portal for donations to assist the region. Wegcash is hosting the site proudly. Our vision is to get as many of you involved as possible, judging from many of your already inspiring efforts, this will not be difficult.

The owners of Wegcash have decided to match the first $40,000 donated via webmaster4america.com. Jettis has already matched the first $10,000 and provided billing, and Epassporte has extended a very gracious hand with donations and waving fees. We hope that programs and individuals continue to raise the bar.

The site is a portal, we would like to see everyone involved. I made a personal donation first thing this morning. I can’t tell you enough how proud I am to be a part of this industry, as well a part of Wegcash. This disaster has affected us all in one-way or another. The impressive and generous contributions from all of you are inspiring.

As usual, the people in this industry are worthy of admiration for going above and beyond to help during a crisis.

Billy, Buff, Sig and all who've kept us better informed than the folks whose job it IS to do so -- thanks, and stay safe.

Wegcash and all with W4A, thanks for matching donations! Between yours and that of my employer, I've been able to double my donations today to help people in the area.

My mother- and father-in-law live(d) in Gulfport, and last I heard they were safe in Tuscaloosa, Alabama but weren't too confident that their house was still standing... and they won't know til they can get back to see. I can't imagine the stress they and everyone in their position must be going through. My heart goes out to them all...

Just had to do a drive-by post to lend my support and thanks. Even though I'm not around these parts much these days, I'm always thinking about you guys. :-)

Least I could do... I'm sitting here feeling totally fucking helpless to do anything beyond donating whatever I can. I'm finding it REALLY difficult to work up the same sense of urgency regarding the broken/needs-updating/new website requests as those asking for my help here at work seem to have. "Yeah, yeah, you need a new ad tag on that DVD site... so the fuck what?"

I should put an auto-reply on my request email address saying that nobody's shit gets done until they show me a receipt for their donations! Heh.

Great move.. Ive been donating to the redcross and encouraging everyone else also to do so..

Now that you have established this, I'll do all that I can to get people involved and helping out, giving as they can to help this move you have set up to help the victums..
