Big Fish...
How would you judge a "big fish" ?
Would it be on income? Traffic control? Combination? On income , I do not think a TGP owner would be considered a "big Fish"... hmmmm........ |
Re: Big Fish...
all of the above
|
Re: Big Fish...
Well, income should be a function of the other factors. To me, a Big fish is someone who I can deal in terms of big numbers with - whether that be in terms of sign-ups, traffic or whatever.

Re: Big Fish...
big tgp owners are big fish in todays environment. the big ones make high 6, low 7 figure income. in today's environment, thats at the top of the level. the other big fish are the affiliate owners themselves, and the big seo guys as well as mailers. anyone who pulls in over 500k/year net is a big fish IMO (thats solely from adult).

And similarly, only thing you left out was said market control. Although, if we move this discussion out of adult ... other factors such as Ability to Influence Others would certainly have to be added in. For example an industry where a company or CEO says, I think this is where we should be going, and weeks later all the support and production companies begin doing that. |

Big TGP owners make 7 figures? Really. By themselves? Or by creating their own paysite and program? How did you get that information, as I don't see big TGP owners making it public. |

Re: Big Fish...
AL4A had to be the best at it. Leveraged some traffic to his paysites, got the webmasters to his affiliate program, opened up the hosting company, then the content shooting.
Richard probably did that best second. Greenie and Tommy third. PK fourth. And that's not including the Adult Buffet guys, the ones who now own World Sex and others. A handful of TGP and Links List owners can make six figures with traffic alone to other people's paysites. None of them can make seven unless they leverage it to other diversified holdings. Certainly not now, and probably not even Then. |

something i thought about a very long time, never EVER say there is no money in something, there is money in EVERYTHING . look all around you, look at your desk, look outside the window, people are making millions off everything. if you walk down the street and see something, chances are somewhere out there, someone is making millions off whatever you are looking at .... whether you are making it though, is the question :) |

One example is the pet rock! That thing made millions! Chances are someone told the guy he'll never make money from something like that.. :biglaugh: |

TGP owners tht make money also have their own affilaite programs. Makes sense. TGP owners making 7 figures from just tgp traffic. Bullshit. I've had a 800k unique site before, I could make 6 figures, but nowhere near 7, and this is back when that traffic was better. |

Gosh I guess since I ran him off everyone couldn't suck up to him for a little shitty traffic (loosely translated from "We wanted to learn from him") Now beyond that $$$$$ determines who the big fish is |

1m pa from traffic. say $30 per signups. 33000 approx signups per yr Roughly 100 plus joins a day sustained. 100 joins a day from a TGP, say it is converting at 1 in 1000 overall , 100,000 unique hits a day from a link.....Nawwwwwwwwwwwwwww 100,000 skim a day would be toough to do and on skim the conversions would be waaaaaaaay worse.Hell the click from a link would be doing VERY well at that level of traffic to convert at 1:1000 The only people that can sustain that level is mailers and SEOs..maybe SEOs. Jast time I had a top gallery on the hun. I think the raw clicks i got to the gallery was around 100,000 ( granted this is ssome years ago) I'd guess that the traffic to a main gallery is at least twice the clicks to a sponsor. |
Re: Big Fish...
And...finally
I do not think a million a year makes you a big fish overall. I'd suspect an orgainisation like the Python group does that in a week...no worries. I think a traffic whore who can do 1m a yr is a big fish in that field, but in the industry as a whole ...nawwwww.. |

I've spent a long time trying to think out of the box, be different, start something first, a new twist, a new thing altogether. But, as you said, (this part I agree with) there's always someone -- usually someones, plural -- that comes and nibbles away at you. I've totally altered my businesss philosophy. From now on, I'd rather be the one who nibbles and takes away more and more from the other guys. So, fuck first. I'd rather move in to something existing and be BEST instead FIRST! |

im going to pick your brain a little :) its a little one sided to think to a TGP owner only promotes PPS programs. To get a little creative on you, I know one TGP guy who had his own P2P network developed and that was what he mainly pushed. With a few hundred thousand hits a day, over time he got a lot of installs... and made good money. Note: this is separate from the people i know who do 7 figures from traffic alone :) |
