Holly Moss Gets Greedy Takes Control of WIA for Herself
 

Women In Adult (WIA), the adult industry female empowerment organization created by HMoss Consulting's Holly Moss in 2002, has slimmed down with the resignation of president Lori Z on Tuesday and Friday's announcement that the organization's board of directors has been dissolved.

Holly Moss and her sister and business partner, Bonnie Moss, who insisted the organization isn't dead, now will run WIA.

"So is it the demise of the organization? I don't think so," Bonnie Moss says. "This is a move to make [WIA] grow. We'd be happy if the structure we had in place worked, if it was making things move fast. The problem is, it's not moving at the pace we want it to."

Although WIA has long been known for its cocktail parties at industry conventions, the organization doesn't have a notable presence anywhere else, which is largely a result of time constraints and other business interests, Holly Moss says. Still, the group has managed to accumulate some substantial sponsors: Video Secrets, XBiz, AEBN, Epoch, Mansion Productions, NetBilling GUBA, NakedSword, and TopBucks.

In addition to shedding the board, WIA's website no longer will offer a separate members' area. All of the information on the site is now available to everyone.

"We're keeping it simple instead of building out the members' area with a resource board and all that. It's never going to be that resource board with the time we have allocated to it," Holly Moss continues.

Looking ahead, WIA is focused on its next event, which will take place during Internext at the Westin Diplomat's outdoor courtyard on August 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The group has no definitive plans beyond that, Holly Moss says. "Right now, our strength is having networking cocktail parties. I think people have a good time, and I think there's value in them."

When contacted by AVNOnline.com, Lori Z and former WIA Vice President Amparo Alcarez declined to comment. Board members were Rainey Stricklin, Britney Andrews, Reena Patel, Holly Ruprecht, and Greg Piccionelli

i always find it a little ironic that one can feel empowered by grouping together with others who are equally insecure, have low self esteem and no real sense of personal accountability.

I'm sure all the women working in adult are so much better three years later from the tireless efforts of this incredible organization. Why, you can see the amazing changes and triumphs they've made and affected coarse and ripple throughout every segment of the industry! :wacko:

For some odd reason, this reminds me of shaving.

Men shave their faces every day. All those angles and important things you don't want to cut.

When I bought a razor for myself, I took the advice of somebody who runs a blade over his carotid artery every day. I got a Gilette. The shaving cream is Gilette, too...the same as he uses.

I didn't feel the need to "go pink" just because I have two X chromosomes. I took the smart advice.

Whether or not this is relevent depends on whether or not you happen to appreciate analogies. :)

I'm using the google popup blocker at the moment, but I turn it off when I'm testing out galleries I'm submitting. I keep forgetting to turn it back on though so hey, popup city :)
