hey i am gringo when it comes to football for me there is only one football NFL
soccer is that other sport that is named like soccer with overrated athletes and sucky game. who the fuck plays for 90 minutes and not score or tie no way that is not for me. the only reason i was mentioning it is because it is such big hype in panama and they have a sucky team that i wanted USA which does have a team and it is doing pretty well to kick panama´s ass like it did. score panama 0 usa 3 according to people that like this sucky game that is an asswhoping. so yeah thats it. |

lets see .. when did football become a professional sport .. and yeah when was american football made a professional sport .. right so which one is the original and best football where you use your foot on the ball for the vast majority of the game ?
american football should be called something a lot more gay .. lets face it - tight uniforms .. tight ends ,. wide receivers , ass slapping after every play ? breaks in between each play .. not even playing for a solid half .. offense defense ... sorry if u want to play a tackling game rugby league is ur best bet at least they dont claim to be playing **football** and no pussy padding or ass patting or gay names . |

Soccer...
In every soccer thread I boast about once playing against George Best. I continued the tradition. And for you young whippersnappers and Americans Pele ,even, once said he was the best player that ever lived. Now.... I agree with Timon , I would have loved to have seen the result of some guy scoring a try and then patting or being patted on the ass LOL NFL is rugby for girls. :) |
Oh and Basketball is netball , again is for girls..
And baseball is merely rounders...played in England by...yes you are correct...girls. Thank you :) |
Do the Americans play any mens games

Preferably where there is an opportunity to wear really tight pants and pat each others bottoms. |
I have a sneaking suspicion that playing an entire half in the "other" football would kill off most of the best using either shape of the ball.
I doubt American football players don't have the endurance to compete against World footballers. I kinda have to wonder how well World footballers would fare having a dozen close encounters of the Ray Lewis kind. As for the petty, nationalistic crap ... stick your wicket! :salute: |

All joking aside, I've seen the game played and it looks easy... but then so does the London Marathon :) |
My fellow doctor had this to say about rubgy vs NFL for players:
Richard mentions a few of the ruggers from the Hurricanes, the champions of the Super 12 league, many of whom will play for the All Blacks, New Zealand's national side, and wonders if there could be a place for them in the NFL. Lote Tuquiri, the star runner? Great moves indeed, but I think it would be a very tough transition (although when Charley Casserly was with the Redskins he made some serious inquiries about the Blacks' 250-pound Jonah Lomu). Chris Jack, the 6-8 lock? Uh, no. Athletic and rawboned, but I fear the NFL's 320-pound weightroom freaks would break him in half. Richie McCaw, the speedy forward? Ah yes, now we're getting somewhere, because of all the ruggers I watched these were the guys who impressed me the most -- the compact 235-245-pounders who could run like the wind and do some serious smacking. I haven't seen much international-level rugby live in quite a while, but what really got me this time was the caliber and ferocity of the hitting. Not so much in the tackling of the ball carriers. It's still a twisting, bulldogging type of tackle, and head shots are severely penalized. I'm talking about the way these guys go flying into the loose rucks and take out anybody who's not paying attention. What's a loose ruck? The milling scrimmage that takes place when a runner is downed. I used to enjoy this part of the game when I was playing because it was a cheap-shotter's paradise, but I never saw anything to match the waves of frenzied forwards pouring into the middle of things that I saw in NZ. They had "special teams" written all over them. I was talking to an NFL personnel director a few days ago and I told him he really ought to take a look at these guys. He said, "Well, we've a rugby kicker in camp who we're looking at," and I gave him much the same pitch you've just read and he took the news calmly. The problem is why would a dedicated rugger give up his All Blacks competition, which brands him as sort of a god over there, to try out for NFL special teams, at minimal salary? Besides, ruggers get paid now. Richard's final question: How many NFL linemen could survive rugby? A lot of the sleeker ones, but it would take a special kind of training for a fairly long period. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writ...lbag/index.html |
An excellent post :okthumb:
Plus Jonah is one big nasty mother.. a bit like the Refrigerator (from way back)but without the spandex, padding and ass slapping... |

ok so from panama getting their ass kicked in my first pro USA post on this fucking board i get all kinds of shit from lovers of football (not NFL) fine love your game men and spend whatever time you spend looking for 1 goal.
i like NFL better i played american football and yeah it is not ruckby maybe i could have played it and probably would like it more than NFL the fact of the matter is eruopean/latin football I dont like i think it sucks but it is my opinion i am not going to change the mind of the masses. however what can you expect from a sport that fans kill each other on stupid brawls on staduims. common when was the last time you saw a riot at an nfl game??? football = lots of fans that don't know how to behave american football = they drink beer and watch the game. and whoever gives me bull about it not being true just check out cable and watch the sports news and then talk to me. ttyl |
We have a soccer team?
Ok, I guess someone has to keep the male figure skaters and gymnasts company at the olympic trials.... Around here soccer is played by girls and themama's boys whose moms are afraid they'll get hurt playing football. |

In fact I believe there is an 11th Commandment, which got cut in the final edit: Wherever two or more Brits shall be, good-natured piss-taking shall commenceth. === Your point about NFL vs Football hooliganism is very valid. When I was in NO for IA2000, on the Sat night, there was one or more shootings as a result of rival fans clashing after a college football game. So, I'm not sure trouble is exclusive to footie. It'd be nice if there wasn't any. The NFL is franchise based & teams move around, so as such it's probaly hard to get all tribal about it, except for some face-painting & costume-wearing. Footie has for some reason always been urban based and rivalries are a big part of it. |

It's kinda pathetic really, but not a good reason to say a certain sport sucks. Hotpants, ass tapping and rubber eggs make a much stronger argument ;-)) |
BTW another question, why is it called Football if the game is played with a rubber egg?? I think at least a ball has to be involved to call a game "whatever-ball".

My team as everyone know is Sunderland AFC, my best friend is a Newcastle supporter... last season was ok as our teams where in different leagues so they never played each other... but we'll have 2 massive arguments and kick the shit out of each other this year... as will 1000's of other people in every bar throughout the North East... we're very passionate about our football up here B) Oh and after the fights we’ll be mates again and buy each other a beer and comment on the best punches thrown :) |

They suck! [/b][/quote] I't because they play teams like Panama and the footballing powerhouse that is Hati. They qualify for every worldcup so their ranking are very high. The Worldcup is a fucked up comp anyway.. It should be the best 32 teams in the world. none of this regional crap like Saudi Arabia. |
