I must say, Jamie Fox did one hell of a job in that film. Very good movie I thought.

Nickatilynx 05-16-2005 11:20 AM

I thought it sucked.

I watched Ray this weekend as well. I thought it was a good movie:) It was pretty interesting to watch Jaime Fox and his movements. He had it down that's for sure.

I just thought it was a bit too

"lets make Ray Charles a saint"

That'd be like putting a halo on you Nick! Ever heard the song "Ring Of Fire" by Johnny Cash? :D

Seriously though, I thought it was a great movie. Well worth the 3 bucks to rent.

Oh I'm sure Satan has a special place for me . :)

But professional courtesy might help me a little.

The real fun is gonna be seeing what they do to the hypocrites and listening to all the bastards screaming "There's been a terrible mistake!!! I was good!!!"

;-))))

The music editing and continuity were outstanding.

Agreed. Jamie Foxx was surprisingly good as an actor, but please. that movie blew. It seemed the goal of the movie was to make Ray Charles a male Rosa Parks.

I have to agree with you; but, did you read where they are going to make a musical out of this and take out his 'bad' stuff, like the heroin addiction and other women? Leaving out those parts takes away from that which made him great.

NickPapageorgio 05-16-2005 04:26 PM

I didn't really come away with the feeling that they were making him out to be a saint. I mean, they portrayed him as what he was pretty much. A junky and a womanizer. Apparently he beat both of those vices so more power to him if that was indeed the case. As far as the whole thing in Georgia where he didn't play because of the segregated audience, if that were true (i'm too young to remember and too lazy to google) then I guess they told it how it happened.

Oh you mean the part where they overdramatized the fact that he was blind and had to overcome so many obstacles to make it? Yeah I agree with you there. Fucking blind people really need to contribute more and stop with all the whining.
