Ryan (sorry mate)
Really got me thinking about how people build their sites these days. So people how do you do your funky thing? |
I do a mixture of FrontPage and hand coding for a site once, then i upload content in to a bunch of different sub directories on the server.
Edit the metas for the template depending on the content directory its going in to then upload the html :) I can build around 40 freesites a day using this method and countless tgp galleries, avs sites and search engine pages :) Its all about working smarter, not harder :) |
i hand write everything with notepad, i love notepad :)
|
To actually build freesites or galleries I use Content God (shocking revalation, I know).
When designing templates and the like I use NoteTab Pro, OR put it together quick in FrontPage and finish it off in NoteTab. |
i am always surprised that after so many years, so many people still use notepad. that would be weird and depressing to be someone like macromedia and to know that the top 5 in your main competition to dreamweaver is notepad.
:) |
To build sites I do a mixture of Dreamweaver and hand coding in Notepad.
For running edits, quick changes or meta edits etc it is notepad all the way. :) |

I'm just happy that I'm not the only one that still fires up notepad...
I've got both Dream Weaver and Front Page(never used) on my system and I only recall starting DW up when I had a complicated nested table to do... |
I do pages a lot of different ways.
My favorite tool is still Homesite. Gives you a nice raw editor like notepad, but makes for easy previews. It also gives you help with tags if you cant quite remember exact syntax on an obscure one. |
Same here, HP!
Lots of different ways here too, depends on what we're talking about. First, what I will not use: Cold Fusion, Front Page, Dream Weaver. What I mainly use: old butt Home Site 4.0, baby! Usually coupled with Photoshop. If I'm doing galleries and sites for adult (not, shocking), Content God CMS. Home Site to build the templates and its own logo generator (Photoshop not needed.) If I'm doing a portal, portalware, usually Nuke. If I'm doing a mini mainstream site, Home Site. Medium mainstream site, a free or purchased site template, modified in Home Site and Photoshop. A large mainstream site, a mainstream CMS like Etomite. (And again, Home Site to make the templates). |
well since you ask, editplus really is my most used software. for moving graphics and tables I use frontpage. for java scripts I just copy/paste from other files and notepads, or have my guy do them. php stuff, again, better to pay someone to help out if you aren't already fluent. all I can say is get it done well the first time and use it again and again.
ctrl-c+ctrl-v are my most used buttons. |
