Take Race ('Black - White' IAT) Interesting test. I came across it in the book "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. I scored: "Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for White American relative to African American" |
URL corrected.

Presidents ('Presidential Popularity' IAT)
I scored "Your data suggest little or no automatic preference for Franklin D. Roosevelt relative to George W. Bush " |
Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for White American relative to African American
which is not true... I'd do them all ;) ....twice! |
Could not get it to work, but I wonder if there is a result that says you hate everyone

and I do hate everyone  |
Hmmm. Works in both IE and Netscape for me.

Works fine from here...

I thought I might discover that I subconsciously hated George Bush but it seems that is not the case. Either that or FDR got negative marks for internment camps.
|
I got it in the end with my results "Your data suggest a slight automatic preference for African American relative to White American"
:) |
Your data suggest a slight automatic preference for White American relative to African American.
Having been married to a native american and been to a great number of large gatherings where I was the only white person race just really isn't that big of an issue at all with me. |
"thank you for taking our test Mr.Hitler"
;-)))) |
Ok flippancy aside ,
""Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for White American relative to African American"" Interesting test.... |
Fuck these tests...I love you all!

Your data suggest little or no automatic preference for White American relative to Black American
I'm an equal opportunity hater.. :okthumb: |
Damn that went on forever
automatic preference for White American relative to African American.... I don't get it myself... I don't like Americans :yowsa: |
Bah ... an automatic preference is as (if not more) likely to be an indicator of cultural identification as it is of racism.

I'm an old (52 next week) white dude. I don't care much for "hip-hop culture." Does that make me racist? I would think that kind of odd, since I spent a couple of years in the Navy as an Equal Opportunity seminar facilitator - a career-building technique almost as pronounced as being a militant athiest in the Bush White House. Look ... most people have cultural biases that have nothing to do with racism. Over the past several years I've heard a number of people who deliberately confuse the two in order to present the idea that racism is "normal." |
"Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for White relative to Black"
|
i think everyone is biased towards people who share similar physical traits and attributes... i dont believe it is necessarily indicative of the presence of racism (depending on how you define racism i guess), but rather simple biology. like people always gravitate towards like people, whether that similarity is race, religion, intelligence, personal interests, economic parity and so on.
i would argue that "Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for White relative to Black" is completely normal and should be expected, just as a Jewish person would have an automatic preference for Jews over Muslims or biker would have an automatic preferrence for bikers over accountants. |
