But, I have never done thumbs from video in php (I know it has been done) I am not sure at the moment what additional php image mods are needed. So, I will go look around and see what all is needed, however...Please, do not let that stop anyone else from jumping into the thread and offering... JerryW, you sounded like you might have some of this type stuff laying around.... |

Yes, Content God 3.0 (which is Perl by the way, more robust for mass, heavy-duty video thumbing and publishing) can do that easily! Handles the basic five formats: AVI, MPEG, Windows Media, Real Media and QuickTime. Thumb caps are default set at 10 seconds after the start (to get past any fade-ins or graphical titles that may be there), however it is also configurable to either pick one of ten thumbs from different parts of each video, or you have the ability to plug in your own number of seconds from the video's start. For publishing, can link straight to file or embed the streaming movies into HTML pages, your choice. http://www.ContentGod.com |

There is a module called ffmpeg.php available that it looks like many of the php content management scripts use. The mod is available over at sourceforge (thats where I went to read the specs) Noticed Mamba is using it (not sure of the licensing on Mamba but it looks free) But you can't go wrong with Content God.. I know the guy who owns it :yowsa: |
Thanks, Joe! Thanks, Sare!
I'm a stickler and a perfectionist when it comes to getting CG working 200% (and to have it some day do everything -- including wash the dishes and induce orgrasms!!) The bad part of which means I'm rarely ever happy with it; that I often see the areas that need improvment, and tend to gloss over the many things it does exceptionally well. ... But even I have to admit, the video component is top notch! :) |
thaks for all the replies :) found one :bjump:
