I know why Bush does not have many press conferences - the press is filled with idiots asking stupid questions, or questions purposely designed to throw him off.

It is a waste of time.

Almighty Colin 01-26-2005 10:56 AM

If I were him I'd setup the questions.

More!

Mike this is necassary if we are to remain a FREE society,

first step of all dictators is to silence the press.
Take away privacy!
stop disent.

we have done two out of three since bush took office.

More along the lines of the questions make him uncomfortable and confuse him and his PR people have finally figured out that if they put him in front of a camera, he will make an ass out of himself.

Useless idiotic questions I agree though like, "Why were the American people lied to" and "What is your plan for getting out of Iraq" and "Where is Bin Laden".

Totally useless...

NickPapageorgio 01-26-2005 11:46 AM

On a side note, if questions from some news reporters have the power to throw off the "most powerful man in the world" ... god help us.

LAJ 01-26-2005 11:49 AM

Mike you are a brilliant guy and I can understand (sorta) how people in this biz can be conservative... but how anyone can still defend bush at all at this point is crazy talk.

That's the whole idea of democracy. The people have the real power. The press v. the administration is a recurrent them. Teddy Roosevelt is a great example.

LOL... I shouldn't have to explain why. If I did then we would clearly be in disagreement from the get go and I'm sure nothing either side would have to say would convince the other side that they are wrong. Better to just agree to disagree and move on... and besides... I don't have all day to debate the finer points of why I hate the bush admin... been there done that x1000 :D

Exactly, the press is the Fourth Estate.

PornoDoggy 01-26-2005 02:02 PM

Can they be the Fourth Estate and Fifth Columnists at the same time?

LAJ, thank you for your question.....

I am not a huge fan of everything Bush does. However, the people who get worked up and anoyed the most about Bush - those are the people I enjoy watching get annoyed.

For every moveon.orger, for every outraged porn slinger, disaffected hippie, that gets pissed off...

It brings a smile to my face.

:agrin:

I know it may be perverse, but its true!!

Why do you think I am hanging around Oprano so much?

Mike ... I'm disappointed in you.

You failed to follow the plan.

How can you trot out that tripe without including Michael Moore?

Because like it or not, Michael Moore is one of US.

Michael Moore is a CAPITALIST PIG!!! I may not like what he is selling, but I appreciate that he is succeeding at it.

He is making money off the hysteria on the left. It's a brilliant idea. Wish I could have come up with it!

 Now that's the Mike I know. The reason we "moveon.orgers" get so hysterical when the subject of Bush comes up is that we can't believe there are people so backwoods that they could support even a single word that comes from his lips. It is absolutely astounding to say the least :)

In the end though, I have enough forsight to realize that none of it really matters. The whole shithole is going up in flames whether I voice my concerns or not. Maybe that's what seperates me from the normal leftwing banter and why I don't feel like I fit into either category. Who knows...

Because Bush has fucking BALLZ I might not like all the things he has done, or the way he has done some of them..............BUT he is doing something, unlike the past 2 decades of nothing but getting attack over and over and losing good people to those that want to kill us.

just my thoughts.
