Man they looked good today....

who can stop them?

Almighty Colin 12-06-2004 05:49 AM

Unbeatable? The Steelers beat the crap out of them.

Mike AI 12-06-2004 09:35 AM

Eagles are best team in the weak NFC.

There are 3-4 teams that could beat them in AFC. Patriots, Steelers, Colts, ??

yeah, but do you think the rookie at QB can guide them through the playoffs?

Manning and the colts look good, but I think Dungey will never win a super bowl ( he is too conservative LOL)

SykkBoy 12-06-2004 10:39 AM

I was gonna say "yeah, eagles kickass but not has much as falcons and ravens" but then I realized you were talking about football
;-)))

buckethead 12-06-2004 11:10 AM

I agree with you, JoesHO .
The eagles look to be the odds on favorites to win the superbowl.

Does anyone ever bet games here?

Q Are the Eagles unbeatable?
A. Does losing to a rookie qb count?

TheEnforcer 12-06-2004 11:32 AM

It's amazing how everyone is ignoring the New england Patriots now. They are the favorites in my book.

Also beaten by the Steelers. By 14. They're all very good teams, for sure.

Patriots are still the champs and have not done anything to change that in my book.

Count for what? How may losses would an "unbeatable" team have 12 games into the season? How many losses do the Eagles have? I rest my case.

Dravyk 12-06-2004 03:08 PM

One assumes, Colin, when one asks a question of a team with an 11-1 record that obviously the question is not to be taken literally. So why are you? I rest my case.

Oh, the usual suspects when someone's favorite teams has won a few good games in a row. Such as: "If we played them now, we'd win", "We've improved and can't lose now",
"the other good teams have a weakness that will reveal itself in the playoffs even though they beat the snot out of us last month" (i.e. rookie QB). This kind of stuff goes on every year.

The original post was "who can stop them?" The answer is "The Steelers".

Dravyk 12-06-2004 03:43 PM

Hoping this is FINALLY the year for the Eagles. It ain't easy being an Eagles fan for so long. Hell, Philly hasn't had a winning team in any sport since '83. :(

Personally, I'm more concerned over the Pats than Pittsburgh. But neither of them are pushovers.

Well, good luck. You guys have been at the doorstep for a number of years now.
I was a huge Buddy Ryan fan and always wished he had won an SB with the Eagles back in the day.

Ahh, the early days of the Buddy Defense system and a new young hot QB named Randall Cunningham .... ah, those days showed soooo much promise ... and lead to nothing.

And before that, Dick Vermeil, Reggie White, Ron Jaworski ...

Yup, it's tough being an Iggles fan. It's the equivalent of having a 20-year lap dance.

Yes, but beating NE during the regular season is MUCH different than beating them in the playoffs.
