Why do you feel/think everything/anything that happens negative in the USA is Bush's fault?
From falling dollar to censorship to spotted owl not fucking this morning? We are a country (republic) here, not a monarchy and the next time you want to refer to Bush as a boy (as is your right) always remember you'll never make enough money to lace Bush's shoes. Canadian dollars or not Ain't that a bitch Love ya, Vick :yowsa: |

Vick, Bush is "the boy"... pushed into power by a political family that has been in power somewhere in the US for most of the last 25 years.
Blaming him for what is wrong? Well, taking the current low dollar thing as an example, I would say that YES, his EXACT policies have lead to the dollar's free fall against other currencies. It is a clear reflection of policies of high debt, low taxes, and low interest rates. The blame comes and sits directly on his doorstep on this one. Bush makes choices, and leads the country down certain paths. When the problems appear as a result of those choices, well, yes, they are his problem. Vick, as for money, let's just say that I didn't have a rich daddy to BUY me a bunch of companies so that I could fail but still syphon off a ton of money before they failed. I wasn't in the position to buy a ML baseball team, get the public to pay for a stadium, and then sell my interest in the team at a huge profit. I didn't start out 90% of the way down the track to wealth, so everything I get I EARNED. No gimmies. He can tie his own shoes. I wouldn't want to appear to be bowing down to the boy king. Alex |
Alex - you just illustrated my points even further
If you care about the US so much move here and do something about it |
Vick, sorry, I don't understand how that makes you point even more. Just saying "Bush is a fool so everything is wrong" isn't the deal here. Pure basic economic policy: Lower taxes, raise spending, raise the deficit, raise the amount of bonds that have to be sold, and suddenly the world doesn't want to deal with the US dollar. HE MADE THE CHOICE... and the results are there. Even faced with that, just before the election, he signed even MORE corporate tax breaks into law. He is not only causing the problem, but appears to do everything he can to make the problem worse.
It's sad to watch... and the US might end up facing the same sort of crunch that got Japan in the 80s. As for moving there, well, I come from a country that isn't poor enough to qualify to just move there. I would have to bring investment money, hire americans, etc. It's just how it works. Alex |

- you don't even address the point that anything negative that happens in the US you blame on Bush From falling dollar to censorship to spotted owl not fucking this morning and the Red Sox winning the World Series Hell if you Canadians have so much $ please come here and spend it he he he and that's before I get into the rich father envy thing (I'm envious too) Also I believe Bush sold his portion of the Rangers at a nice profit Could that be a good business move? Or did daddy and his cronies have something to do wiht that as well? and I feel unclean defending Bush now so damn it I have to take a shower, can I get some Canadian water piped in since there is an abundance of natural resources there (at least I read that on Oprano oh and Alex - you don't even address the point that anything negative that happens in the US you blame on Bush From falling dollar to censorship to spotted owl not fucking this morning and the Red Sox winning the World Series |
Vick, he is the man. he is the boss, the leader, the man at the top. The buck stops somewhere, and if he has any balls, it stops with him.
Of the MANY bad things that have happened to the US in the last 4 years, most of them can be traced right back to his office. He chose Iraq. He chose Afghanistan. He chose to cut taxes, and he chose to spend more money. I could go on and on, no need to, you know the story. The man is the president, and the president is directly responsible for things that happen while he is in office. What's so hard about that? As for the Rangers, well, the whole story is even stranger than that... http://www.semitrue.com/topics/essays/2002/07/10.html 800k to 15m on the backs of texas taxpayers. Not bad! Alex |
So by that rational ........
..... If I have a toxic piss it's Bush's fault? ..... If the porn industry has another aids outbreak it's Bush's fault? edited to add and all the hurricanes were Bush's fault too |
Vick, using bizarre absolutes is a high school debating trick. Bush can not controlt he weather, nor can he control your urine stream.
You ask me to address points, but you don't reply to any of them. Okay, no probs. Must be a holiday friday or something. ;-) Alex |

Those consessions (which are very common in pro sports were made only to GW Bush??? he is the only one who profited from that????) Turning a $600,000 investment is $15 million is good business and to be admired and copied. Please tell me, if you could take $600,000 and turn it into $15 million would you? Stop making me defend this fuck, damn it. Just admit you are a Bush basher and think everything negative that ever happens in the USA is Bush's fault. :awinky: :agrin: |
Quote:
My point really is you blame Bush for every negative that happens in the USA, regardless of whether is it solely Bush's fault or not. Very few things are solely Bush's fault. We have a congress here like you have a Parliament there. It's a system of checks and balances and while Bush may wish he had the power to be solely responsible like you portray him to be, that's just not the fact You can't even make the admission that turning 600,000 into 15K is a great business move and shows good business acumen |

"While his father was Vice-President to Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush owned an unsuccessful oil and gas exploration company called, apparently with a straight face, Bush Exploration. Although the company is not very successful in its search for oil, government tax breaks for the oil industry make it attractive to investors."
wonder if he found "the man in the boat"?;) |

They can come up with an idea, put it into law, and run with it, all without much more than a "how do you do?" to the democrats. This is how the US has ended up with records deficits AND record tax cuts (can someone explain this one to me? Seems like a really obvious problem!). When I say "I blame the boy", it really means that I blame the whole republican side for allowing the boy to have as much power as he does enjoy - much more than any president in the last 30 years or so (back to before Carter, I guess). I don't even Reagan had this much control over everything in range. When he controls and pulls the levers of power, he is there to eat the blame when it goes wrong (and go wrong it does... ) Alex :salute: |
Alex - just admit it
You have a hard on for Bush and you blame everything negative that happens in the USA on Bush How connected to the dollar's current decline is Bush? Exactly what policies implemented solely by Bush are the cause of the dollar's decline? You most likely will come up with any/some info (no matter if it's half baked or semitrue.com) and you still don't address Bush as a good business person who turned a nice profit from his involvement with the Texas Rangers (and in a few other places as well) If you have rich dad envy please take solace that many do. I wouldn't have said no to a rich dad and as much as I have misgivings about Bush (and all politicians) my gut tells me Kerry would have been worse |

I won't have it!!! I don't believe Alex can get a hardon for anything:) ;-))) |
No, no hard ons about GW here... I prefer my Bush gently shaved, anyway...
Vick, should I type slower? Lowering taxes multiple times, while increasing and not controlling government spending (partially due to the war in Iraq, another GW choice) has lead to a huge increase in debt, the government having to sell more bonds, etc. Not raising interest rates (while I know he doesn't control that directly, he can put a ton of pressure of the Fed reserve chairman to do it) in the face of this stiff decline means that the US dollar is signiicantly less attractive than many other world currencies. Combine all of this action (or inaction) of GW part, and you have a dollar sinking into the sunset. Why in the end is so stunning is that in the face of this mounting deficit that Bush signed into law another 136 billion dollar tax cut. MSNBC REPORTS that the tax cuts, which are claimed not to affect the deficit, will in fact push it up as a number of the balancing items expire in a couple of years, adding about 60 billion a year to the deficit. Actions like this, VERY SPECIFIC ACTIONS, have lead to the dollars slide. I typed more slowly this time, I hope you can understand it... :rokk: :rokk: Alex |
Alex - why are you typing slow, so you have more time to understand what you're posting? :P
I do agree with you about deficits, but some economists I've spoke with at length seems to think deficits aren't as bad as I believe and can even lead to short term growth which in turn can spur long term growth Lowering taxes can have a positive effect (especially when coupled with decreased government spending) and everyone would rather have their money than giving it to the government You really believe Bush has a lot more control that it seems from my point of view. Even with a Republican controlled congress Bush doesn't have a rubber stamp Of course you keep skipping even acknowledging Bush's business acumen, oh did I say you keep skipping even acknowledging Bush's business acumen Obviously this is an issue we'll never see eye to eye on so I think I'll give it a break for now (sure everyone reading this will be glad too) and toast to you in remembrance of the Grand Prix :okthumb: and gently shaved Asian women |
why dont yall just fuck and get it over with, this seual tension is ruining nmy thanksgiving weekend.
alex, admit you think bush is hot. admit it, hes hot in an elfin sort of way. canadiansw love power, having never sween it. so you want to fuck Bush. pitching only.... you are not gay like nick;}) |
Grimm, you are turning into such a metrosexual.
Vick, Business acumen? Don't get me started on a list of failed businesses and business supported only by government money that this guy has been involved in. That would take a couple of posts alone! The economist you quote is the sort that supports the idea of tickle down economic boosts: Put more money in rich people's pockets, and the money will trickel down to the masses. It is also refered to as "voodoo economics". I don't have a problem with tax cuts if there is a matching reduction in government spending. Instead, Bush has done the worst of both sides: Lower taxes AND raise spending. It's not something we can solve, so I will agree to salute gently shaved asin pussy and the grandprix (which is often closed now, but that's okay, there are 7 or 8 other places just like it now!). Alex |
Point of clarification. Bush does not control interest rates. The Fed Reserve does and it is independent - not under the president's control. It was designed to be that way by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.
|
"you keep skipping even acknowledging Bush's business acumen"
That may in fact be one of the funniest things I have read in a long, long time. |
Friends/family in high places to grease the skids for you does not equal a good business acumen.
