Clinton's people have rushed in to "help" Kerry, now Kerry is going dovish on Iraq. He is now starting to compare Iraq to Vietnam.
I do not think this is going to be a winning strategy. Could they be paving the way for Hillary run in 08? |

I believe you may have a point there.....

Something is going on... When you want power in a democracy, then you try and put your politics in the center, where compromise is possible, so people who in the past have voted for the "other party/guy" do not have to commit "high treason" to their values, if they should vote for you. Placing yourself too far right or too far left is very high risk, since it makes it alot more easy for opponents/media etc. to label you and to do character killing on you.
Ex. on Iraq, instead of debating "why are we in Iraq", then Kerry should use the "what can we do to make things better in Iraq" - no matter if you are for or against the war in Iraq, then you want the situation to get better - it opens for compromise, and it also shows a leader who has a plan. The "Michael Moore" way to debate (with focus on all the negative) - will only lead to confrontation... something which works for Michael Moore, because he sells tickets to his movies, but it will not work for a man who seeks to become President of a democratic nation... Once you are President, then you are everybody's President, no matter what their view on life is. |
Wow. Some people just can't pass up on the chance to speculate about a conspiracy of some sort or another.

There are millions of people who believe Roosevelt let Japan attack, millions of people who believe that the moon walk was done in a Hollywood studio, millions of people who believe Nixon was framed, and millions of people who believe that Bush allowed 9/11 or that the Pentagon was hit by a cruise missle. |

I think the fact was established that Rooservelt DID know the Japs were going to attack. Have not been keeping up with latest documents released. |

That is not a good opinion though to use as an example, though Mike. Dick Morris is/has been sour towards the clintons every since they fired him when he got caught up in that whole tranny episode or whatever it was..... did he dress in drag on photos or something? I cant remember exactly... But wham, he all of a sudden became a clinton hater... ( all alleged BTW, and NOTHING ever confirmed in all of his wild accusations, and every time he trys to point a finger at BILL or Hillary...) he puts the sour in disgruntled employee... :salute: |

So I guess the books written by the ex-Bushies saying bad things about Bush should be taken with a grain or 2 of salt as well? |

[/b][/quote] I think you can safely say that Roosevelt knew the Japanese were going to strike SOMEPLACE. The best minds in the U.S. military assumed it would be on Dougie out in the Phillipines. Buff ... that one was a few years before my time. :D |
I think the Kerry campaign has been disappointing - there are so many places where Bush is out of touch with voters, yet Kerry does not try to exploit these. Also Kerry has not been able to paint a picture of himself as a "Leader" with a plan for the future. I think its extreamly sad, when all it took to do a character killing on Kerry was constant "Flip Flop" comments from Republicans about Kerry - if Kerry had been good, then he could turn that into some positive or funny, and then gotten the spotlight back on the issues where Bush is weak.
I can explain how Kerry is loosing the election, but I can not understand it, unless someone who are close to Kerry gives him very bad advice (or maybe he is just not cut to be President). PD - how would describe the Kerry campaign so far? |

Kerry's campaign has been pathetic. he needs people around him to tell him to stay on point. Something he has a hard time doing. He fell right into Bush's trap - they have been labeling Kerry as a wishy-washy NE liberal. Kerry has flip flopped on issues, especially Iraq. It would be one thing if there was not video, and press around to doucement it all - but the man has held at least 5 different posistions. He should have staked out a posistion and stuck with it. Probably would have been best to stick to supporting the idea of war, just not how Bush handled it. ( too few troops, etc...) Bush should thank his lucky stars for being blessed with such a candidate and the poor campaign team. |
