Saturday July 10, 2004--Senator Kerry now leads President Bush in the Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll, 49% to 45%. Today's results reflect a five-point net gain for the Democrats since John Edwards was named as Kerry's running mate. In our last survey before the announcement, President Bush had a one-point edge, 47% to 46%. |
>> Today's results reflect a five-point net gain
Far less of a pop than when Gore names Liberman, or when Bush names Chaney, or when Clinton names Gore. A net gain is expect, but the key info is how much of a gain. |
Slav, this is interesting. (Gallup polls)
Aug 4-5, 2000 Bush 54% Gore 37% Aug 8 Lieberman chosen Aug 11-12 Bush 55% Gore 39% Aug 14-Aug 17 Democratic National Convention Aug 24-27 Bush 46% Gore 45% Conventions are often pivotal. I think we'll know what kind of race we have after the upcoming Democratic National Convention. |
Yeah I am surprised the pop was not much higher, the press was having orgasims ove Edwards - calling him a rock star, and things like that.
Funny thing is, he place the class card a lot, yet he is worth MORE then Bush and Cheney together. Anyone know what kind of cases he made his money on??? Cerebal Pausly, and science has proved he was wrong - and because of it a lot of doctors are no longer practicing and certain medical procedures are not being used for insurance purposes - and it has nothing to do with REAL medicine. I hate TRIAL LAWYERS!!!! |
I think the wave, just shows that more and more each day, people willl come out against Bush, and stop the right wing media bias that has been at the center of the race so far... :P

I think that NBC is way to the left, with a couple token right wingers that are more moderate than way right ( Chris mathews, Joe scarborough, and (Buchanan.) the farthest right on the network) I think that CBS is leaning to the left, but hugs the center . and I think ABC is controlled by the right, but wishes it could stay to the left from it's employee perspective, so I would give it a draw... and I think CNN is left by nature, but has tried to mimmick the success of fox recently, and shifted more to the right . As of lately however though they seem to have switched waves ( pun intended LOL) The Print Media is reflective of the countries attitude, and seems to be split amongst it reader base , No side seeming to have a disproportional advantge . That is my take on the media converage we see today. and on a final note, I believe that none of them ever actually report it just the way it came, with out adding some type of personal slant on the coverage based on their own beliefs, it is just human nature I suppose. |

I will give you Fox, but that is it. The main networks ABC, NBC, CBS are all very liberal. A majority of major print media in US is VERY liberal - the only major newspaper that could be Conservative is Wall Street Journal and that is more of a business paper. Of course you probably do not even define yourself as liberal, you probably think you are an average guy. American do not see themselves as liberals when polled less then 16% label themselves liberal while over 40% label themselves conservative. THIS is why even though Kerry/Edwards is most liberal ticket EVER for Democrats, you will NEVER hear them utter the L word. Becuase they know it would sink them. If Kerry & Edeards came out and said, "We are proud to be liberal" the ticket would be doomed. Liberals can only win National election by pretending to be moderates - or conservatives. |

What about newsweek, or lets include talk radio (if you count that as news instead of rhetoric) I would say I am liberal for sure, I do think the word has negative conotations now, and many people will not admit that they are liberal , as they are concerned with the outcome, it is definatly a stance you either are proud of, or you stay in the closet.... but the same could be said for the ultra conservative crowd as well... Being Liberal in thinking does not mean/and should not mean that you are a communist, or a traitor, etc... after all it was liberals who decided to start the rebellion against England in the first place... without them, I wonder what the outcome of the industrial revolution would have brought? It was Liberals that helped free the slaves It was Liberals that allowed women to vote T Roosevelt and all his national parks can be contributed to his liberal feeling as well Many good cases can be brought to symbolize good in a liberal... However somehow by not controlling the media, and being liberal enough to allow the other side their say as to their POV the word liberal has been demonized unfaily Same thing happened to Homosexuality... food for thought LOL  |
Newsweek, Time, and World News are all liberal.
Talk radio is the ONLY place Conservatives have a distinct advantage. Joe Lincoln was a Republican. Please keep your history straight. I have nothing against liberals, I just wish they would be honest and call themselves what they are. I think we need people from all political spectrums involved in politics - Conservatives do not have a monopoly on what is right. I am Conservative when it comes to economic issues, and foreign policy. I am a Libertarian when it comes to domestic issues - I am for smaller gov't, and think the Federal Gov't should stay out of peoples lives - this includes their POCKET BOOKS, Bedrooms, Dr.'s office and everything else. I promise you Kerry & Edwards will NEVER use the L word in this campaign! Wanna bet some Chunky Monkey on that?? |
IMHO ... and based on that most unscientific standard known as common sense ... I believe the media is pretty unbiased.
The simple reason I say that is based on the dB level of the people on both sides bitching about it. |

I will bet , but I prefer the New york super fudge chunck over the monkey ( being in Porn has scared me off of bananas) so are the terms of the bet, (one of them must declare they are a liberal? or anyone in the campaing can call them a liberal? Truth is I aggree with your anit pro, politician stance, and am not really a Kerry supporterr per se, I am just heavy ANTI BUSH so I have no choice but to support the only other option available.... it is like one of those old westerns were the good guys ride their horses to the end of the cliff, with the bad guys hot on their trail.... if they jump off the cliff they have a chance at survival... if they stay and face the posse of bad guys, their destruction is in the immiediate future.... as they would surley perish at the hand of the bad guys overwhelming strength and evil! in this particuler case , I am deciding to jump off the cliff and take my chances..... They all lie, it is the measure of the lie, and the results that come from them that has me so anit bush.... |
"Joe Lincoln was a Republican. Please keep your history straight."
What does that have to do with liberal and conservative? Believe it or not, before Reagan (who laid the groundwork for the Mullah Robertson et. al.) there was a left and right in even the Republican party. If the slavery question were around today, I have no doubt that it would be the left agitating to free them, with the right hiding their ignorant bigotry behind property rights and states rights. "Newsweek, Time, and World News are all liberal." If you are referring to "U.S. News and World Report", you probably also think that the Wall Street Journal is liberal. USN&WR is far more conservative than the other two, and always has been. I never have had a problem admitting I'm a liberal. I long for the day when a liberal democrat takes a cue from the likes of Harry Truman, and punches the fuck out of some dimwit who does not realize that liberalism and patriotism are not mutually exclusive. |

Two different questions.
I unfortunatly have to interject once again, that as ALL reporters are human, they can not help but to have at least a little bit of their own beliefs while repoting the slant of the story.... how could they not? |
Quote:
is that what you are saying? cheney is worth like 400 million |
Quote:
is that what you are saying? cheney is worth like 400 million
Yes that is what I am saying Meni. It is a fact. I cannot beleive Mr. Stern has not pointed it out. I guess it does not help the parrots make the case againt Bush. Kerry and Edwards can both buy Cheney and Bush out multible times over. |
Quote:
is that what you are saying? cheney is worth like 400 million
Yeah, and that does not even count the trust funds he controlls, (but technically does not own) and for sure Bush is worth a lil more than his tax returns would show.... But hey coming from Texas, maybe he shares the same accountants as weasel does.... you know why should THEY be bothered with paying taxes, I mean after all isn't that the responsability of the little people who do not understand Trust, and Land agreements or Tax shelters, or have off shore accounts and business like halliburton LOL |
Why do I have to keep being thye one that actually goes and provides the FACTS.
Wealth of Presididents , click here. And meni forbes estimates Cheney worth 50 m. Now back to your debate based on absolute bollocks , hardly a FACT to be found. LOL |
Quote:
I always wondered about that LOL |
Quote:
I would say Hands down Kerry made the best choice LOL oh yeah and.... Weasel sucks :rokk: |
Joe,
LOL I explained this once before...it is complicated. If one is talking bollocks , it means one is talking a pile of horse shit or that you post like this , blah blah blah conspiracy ,blah blah blah stern is god blah blah hate oprano However if your car is the bollocks , it means it very good. ...funny language ;-)) |
Quote:
I would say Hands down Kerry made the best choice LOL oh yeah and.... Weasel sucks :rokk:
LOL Ok , did you click the links in that article? Interesting FACTS available at your fingertips... Joesho - has been showing some improvement but really should spend more time paying attention in class rather than devoting so much time to being attentive to the Principle. Grade = C Effort = Satisfactory ..... Meni - meni has been in the remedial class forf sometime now and despite showing a great deal of enthusiasm fails to make any progress. We feel he may be better served attending elsewhere. Grade = F Effort = stern ;-)))) |

Where is the fuckin outrage? that alone isn't enough to say FUCK CHENEY? |

The media are fags
where is the reporter to blow this shit wide open show how he still profits from haliburton put this on PRIME TIME NETWORK TV the media can't cuz of repercussions from the administration they stand to make $18 fuckin billion dollars receives deferred compensation from Halliburton under an arrangement he made in 1998, and also retains stock options |
bush & cheney
2002 President Bush assets between $8.8 million and $21.9 million Vice President Dick Cheney assets at between $19.1 million and $86.4 million lemme guess in 2004 they are worth a bit more |

Actually, and I could be wrong, but I thikn Halliburton will be paying Cheney until he dies. He has a golden parachute that most CEO's of large companies get that pay out for the rest of their lives. I wuld be happy for Meni to name 4 other companies in the world that could do what Halliburton can. Giant construction companies who can pull off huge projects like this are not on every street corner. Meni maybe you should start a construction company! |
Here Slavik
Looksmart directory of links CNN MONEY article is that enough Slavik monday bush's pushes for an amendmant outlawing gay marriage then what are you and your boyfriend gonna do? |

Mike you want me to look it up?
haliburton got that NO BID why no BIDDING? huh? this is ludicrous tell me point blank mike you think there is nothing wrong with Halliburton rebuilding Iraq without bidding considering cheney's involvement with the company can you say that without your nose growing you are rich you think GW keeps you rich thats the only reason you back bush |
Quote:
However, I think its pretty kooky to think Cheney wanted to invade Iraq just to get Halliburton some business. You diminish your seriousness when you start qupting the kooks who see conspiracies under every move by Bush and Cheney. |
Quote:
>> you tell me bush is a great president i never said Bush is a great pres, not to you at least :) but i do think invading Iraq, taking out Saddam, trying to build democracy in the ME was a good move |
Quote:
Can you tell me how often Gov contracts get awarded without bidding ?? While at it, can you name another US company or 2 that can do the job Halliburton does in Iraq. while i do think its pretty fucked up for Halliburton to be overcharging like they are. In reality its probably not that big of a deal since they employ mostly US contractors that pay taxes in the US, so the money comes back around through economy one way or another. |
