Just a note for all who has either wondered or been looking for me the last few days.
I don't know if some of you have heard of some of the tornados ripping thru southern Indiana. But, my home, here in Georgetown was distroyed last Thursday evening about 9pm due to a tornado that hit our town. Today, I was able to get in and collect a few of my belongings( clothes, person items, etc..) and my computer which was was unharmed, although, my montitor was blown somewhere. Anyway, it has done an enormous amount of storms for the last few days here and alot of residents are without power. The town of Borden, which is about 20 mintures away was hit with tornado's Thursday night and again today. My brother which lives in Marango ( half hour from me), about a mile from his house, a torando distroyed the town around 3pm today. many people hurt and one dead, few people are missing. Anyhow, for some of you that have been looking for me the last few days, I am fine. The home, I bought a month ago is gone. But, for the time being, until my fincee gets her power back on, I guess, we'll be staying at her Mom's tonight and hopefully tomorrow, I'll be over there. I do have some clothes and thank god my computer still works. I have also no clue where my work cd's are or my extrnal hard drive are. But my computer was laying about 50 ft. ftom where the house was. I have heard you can drop PC's and such without harming them. But damn..had no clue this would happen and I'd still have my pc. Anyway, if anyone needs to contact me. I'll be using my fincee's monitor until I can get the insurance company to get me a new one. Also, if anyone needs to contact me. Email Serge for my phone number or I'll be off and on my pc, while the storms allow me tonight. For what, I gather, we are in line for another MF'er of storms. Hopefully everything will be fine. We don't need anymore fucking tornado's. I had my fill. I know my community doesn't need anymore either. When, I get a chance. I'll post some pics my parents were able to get of my house and our comminuty. Jeff |
Jeff, this is plain terrible!
what a lousy news, bro! |
Oh well.
We are gonna get hit again here within the next hour again. I hope we only get rain, even thou, we don't need anymore. But radar looks nothing but red. Hope it's not too bad. I'm not one to go a couple days without a bath again. Never knew how much you appriate little things like that till they are gone. |
Jeff......my sincerest sympathies to you. Thank God you and your loved ones are alright.....most things you can replace, but people, pets, no.
Here's hoping only rain comes your way in the next onslaught. You have our best wishes. |
just when you're done house shopping....damn thing blows away!
that's terrible, but thankfully you and the pc are alright. your health and your pcs health, two very important things in life. don't forget to tell the insurance company about that safe full of cash and the ferrari you were storing in the basement. |
Ok..back again.
I'll be out today for anyone who may need me. Gonna go back to the house and see what more I can find. The storms last night passed tornados down in Kentucky. TG, we didn't get anymore. I am hoping the storms are gone for a while. Looking at the Weather channels website doesn't call for anymore storms. So, if you need me...be patient until I get somewhat settled. |
Real sorry to hear that man. Glad to hear you and your family are safe and sound.
|
I can't even concieve what that must be like! Dunno if you're putting on a great face or taking it in stride, Jeff, but damn, more power to you. I think I'd be devastated. Very glad you are alright!!
|
Damn, terrible. Stay safe. You seem to be taking it well.

I got my Moms digital cameraand will be taking pics later on today.
I'm doing ok. Just right now. I am in a mood, I feel like I am lost and dunno what to do or start. At least, my fincee power is back on. as of yesterday at 4pm. If anything, I have a place to escape so I can do some work in between all this shit. When I talked to Farm Bureau the other day. They said, they would get me an appartment in Louisville until I get the new house built. But, with everything here. I don't feel much like driving across Louisville and back over here. Just to see Beth and my family. So, I opt to stay with her. She has her house up for sale. So, if she does end up selling it. I guess then, we'll stay with her Moms then. I hope her house is not sold now until we get the new house built. Her Mom is a pain in the ass and drives BOTH of us, fucking nuts. So, I dunno how much, I can take of her Mom, neither does she. Just hoping Farm Bureau gets their shit together asap so her Uncle can start building. One thing, I realize now is how much stuff we take for granted in our life nowdays. From a home, baths, hot cooked meals, electricity, everything. You don't realize how much you depend on some of lifes simplest pleasures, until it is gone. Friday and Saturday, I felt like a homeless man, begging to take a simple bath. Anyway, I'll post some pics of the house after while. The whole back of it is missing. Like it was sawed in half. Weird thing is...some of the furniture on the side of the house that is still standing was left untouched and not even moved. |
Damn, Jeff, very sorry to hear about this. And glad we don't have them here. I saw some footage on the news last night, it's horrible all the folks who are displaced, and will be for the time it takes to get things re-built.

My best wishes to you Jeff.
Family is very important in situations such as these...and I know about the whole family thing being a pain in th ass during your time of need. You know if you ever need anything, even someone to yack at on the phone at 3am (remember of couple of those? ;-) I'm only a phonecall away. |
Thanks everyone.
Sykk..I just may do that in a few days, once everything settles a bit. Well, they won't let us back in our road. But here are some photos of the house. Once and if when we are allowed back that way. I'll get some close up photos. Insurance adjuster and local officals were roaming thru everything and wouldn't let us near anything due to danger of getting hurt. Plus, alot of theft going on in the area for what little people have left. Our house from a distance. As you can see where it looks like it exploded. The back of the house of what is amazing. Like I said before. Looks like it was sawed in half. Hald of the house looks like it wasn't even touched on the inside. Wildest thing, I have ever seen. http://www.favoriteporn.com/tornado/MVC-022S.jpg Overall damage to our house and the neighbors house behind us and their pole barn. Their roof was lifted up and thrown about 300 ft. http://www.favoriteporn.com/tornado/MVC-023S.jpg Tomorrow, I'll go thru town and get some shots. If they allow me, I'll get some up close damage of the house. |
:(
Sending good thoughts from here, Jeff! I know many others have said it, but it bears repeating - no one was hurt. That's a good thing. Everything else can be replaced. :okthumb: |
