JohnV 04-28-2004 01:39 PM

Serge,

That stuff is pure EVIL....we'll it's evil when you decide to have some after drinking vodka all day ("The Day that NEVER Happened" as we like to call that one) or as we did in Canada once after drinking Gibsons rye whiskey all night. Anyway, sounds like your in for an insane Saturday evening :hic:

JohnV 04-28-2004 01:49 PM

I found it at the local ABC Liquer, at "international" section, where they sell Averna, Jagermaister, Campari and other "exotic" drinks..

it's called:
Absente, about $40 per bottle, and if it's sold in a box- it has Van Gogh portrait on it
;-)

Winetalk.com 04-28-2004 02:12 PM

Vick, side note:
it's STRONG!
110 proof!

Vick 04-28-2004 02:21 PM

Thanks Serge

Great link JohnV - thanks

What does absinthe do to you?
Absinthe is a strong alcoholic beverage.

Absinthe can have an effect that has been described as a "clarity" and a full-body high.

Chemist and absinthe expert, T.A. Breaux describes it as a push-me, pull-you effect of the various herbs, some have a heightening effect while others have a lowering effect.

Winetalk.com 04-28-2004 03:43 PM

Vick, just keep in mind that the one we can buy in US and what guys drink in Canada- are two different drinks,
one has halucigens and another doesn't...we are CHEATED!
;-)))

Mike AI 04-28-2004 04:31 PM

Yup, your story sounds about right....drinking the real deal from Eur. or CAD is a little rough on your system. I'd do it again though

If you watch Carnivale, it's what the blind guy (who used to be in "The Pretender") who can read minds drinks. Maybe it's what helps him read minds :)

Vick 04-28-2004 06:47 PM

Is it true that Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder?

Sorry I had to do it

Fletch, would you rather experience as many things as possible in life only once each, or your favorite activity over and over for your whole life?
