There's nothing blocking the hose from either the attachments in to the bag or the floor thingy into the bag (took it apart to find THAT out - oy). It turns on fine. It's blowing out the HEPA filter like it's supposed to, but there's NO suction on the attachments or the floor thingy. I REALLY hate to buy another one if it's something simple. It's a little over 2 years old, but you can look around my house and see it's barely been used.
Any ideas? |
Buy a new one!

Fine - now I'm trying to figure out if the Dyson is worth all the hype - anyone have one? |
I can't believe you posted this. lol- I had the same exact problem last night...piece of shit- Dirt-Fucking-Devil. My ex bought these and I don’t know why, they don’t work. I had a Sears Hoover for almost 10 years that worked great but finally bit the dust. Lol- so to speak!
It was a pain keeping and changing bags but it worked great. I think she took the good vacuum with her when she left and left the crappy one for me. Well screw this noise. Have you ever heard of a Rainbow? Check Ebay or used appliance places. New they are really expensive but you can buy them used. A friend swears by them. No bags, you add a bit of water to keep down on the dust and it last for years. I’m going to get one. That’s what I love about Oprano. No fucking stupid ass nonsense. You can come here for news, weather, gossip, cooking and cleaning tips. I’m making it my home page. Lol |
Rainbows are OK as are Kirbys (my Mother's had her Kirby for at least 30 years...). They last forever, but I'm not convinced the suction is so great on them. :( I have SO much dog hair in my carpet that it's pitiful - plus, I need something in the next couple of days, lol!
Consumer Reports rated the Hoovers high. The one I have now was rated "Best Buy" and it HAS been put through the ringer. I think what did it in was the dogs getting into the trash last week and me having to vacuum up boiled peanuts from under the cabinets. :awinky: I may end up even getting another Eureka like I have. :headwall: |

Seriously though, my ex roomie had a Rainbow. They are pricey but they do work well. The nifty thing is (omg. Did I just say 'nifty'?) that you can add different aromas to the water and they work great on pet hair. I have a himilayan cat and the Rainbow was about the only thing that could get her fur off my velour couch. |
Peaches - did you notice this happen by sound changing in the engine or from not being able to pick stuff up with it anymore?
My guess already is faster and easier to go new. There are a few small, simple and cheap vacuum problems but it doesn't sound like you've got one of them. I've had a couple Hoover windtunnel self drive with bag, air filters, the works. We're pretty hard on vacuums here (running over the cord, lots of thick carpet, etc) and the Mrs. and I have no compaint about them at all. (just for another opinion) Hoover carries quite a few variations and models, they really play with their options so it may be a little tricky finding just the options you're looking for on the first shot. Tell us how your sucking issue works out :D |
What is a vacuum? With women talking about broken devices, it sounds like a vibrator to me?

I thought *Electrolux* was supposed to be the big super daddy of vacuums!
Vacuum cleaners have become like VCR's. It's cheaper to buy a new one than try to repair a broken one. I have been searching my entire life for the perfect one! I want a vacuum that will gobble up nails, marbles, furballs, and does not leave that vacuum cleaner smell when I'm finished cleaning. Good luck, Peaches! |

OK, I bought a Eureka bagless. It has this really cool feather duster attachment! :bjump: Spiderwebs - your days are numbered!
I'll report back with the "dog hair" test results. :awinky: |
