Ya talk about your spin.... The democrats are blaming the republicans, but it was the democrats filibuster that held up the appointment....
Go figure........... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,96437,00.html Dems Blame White House for Estrada Thursday , September 04, 2003 By Liza Porteus WASHINGTON — Senate Democrats blamed the White House Thursday for the Senate's failure to confirm judicial nominee Miguel Estrada (search), nominated 28 months ago to a seat on the federal bench. Estrada sent a letter to President Bush on Thursday, and wrote that he was taking his name out of the ring for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals (search) in Washington, D.C., to return his focus to his legal career and his family. Republicans, on the other hand, said Democrats were biased against Estrada, who is a Hispanic conservative, with one House leader calling the seven filibusters of his nomination a "political hate crime." Bush, in a statement issued on Air Force One as the president flew to a speech in Kansas City, Mo., Thursday, said he accepted the resignation "with regret." |
Why didn't he just take a seat on a park bench? :salute: :wankit: :salute:

hahahaha! a "political hate crime" people suck. it should be a serious crime to make accusations like that for political gain. |
And those wascally Democrats wouldn't take the bait ... a lot of the same people screaming that they were committing a hate crime by not supporting Estrada just because he was Hispanic wouldn't hesitate to accuse the Democrats of supporting a nominee just because they were Hispanic in a slightly different context.
The level of hysteria on both sides of the isle on this one is pretty pathetic, but the "hate crime" remark could very well set a new low. |
