It was a good meeting. Both sides film and internet were there. Even saw FM, looking cuddly as ever.

Edit... My count was different than theirs. There were more against than for.

Interesting.

They should be debating a .kids designation. Not a .xxx designation.

JMM 08-29-2003 10:15 AM

It was just a short while ago that Yahoo shareholders forced them out of the adult business.

Can you see where I am headed with this or do I need to spell it out for you?

KK and JMM are both right.

Creating an XXX tld would create a Ghettoizing effect, and make it easier for the gov't to shut people down or block them.

Plus how will this effect those in the porn business outside the US.

Amazing how much time is wasted on stupid ideas....

My mama always said.. "Forrest, I mean Far-L, you have got to follow the money"...

FSC was against this a year ago... Now they are being offered a "piece of the pie" and suddenly it is open to debate?

Can I get a witness?

Brothers and Sisters!

I say "Can I get a witness?!"

Amen...

JMM right.

I have quoted the important part of your post.

I think you will find that JMM:right is redundant.

Let's not forget how much of a financial fuck in the ass creating an .xxx tld would create for those that have spent their time collecting valuable real estate in the form of .coms.

I'd be fired up fucking ready to do what I had to in order to prevent it if I were a few people on this board and really thought it had a chance of being done.

Of course you'd also have the idiots that bought certain .xxx domains and thought they would actually get to use them. These same domain holders of .com, .net could most likely prevail in a domain 'war' in a courtroom or in front of ICANN, especially if they could establish a pattern of financial harm and prior use.

I like that KK and right in the same line too baby!

The XXX TLD is a silly one. No one would ever give up their dot coms.

If they wanted to do something useful they should require you to register your site with an adult site blocking software company if you have adult material. Even that would be hard to enforce globally.
