My admiration for the Bush Administration grew considerably today, when they announced the capture of Chemical Ali, Saddam's cousin, who they declared they had killed several months ago.

Sly 08-21-2003 02:09 PM

I about died laughing myself. Now should we really believe that he was captured? Or maybe it was just his "double" that was thought to be dead?

You would think that the administration would know how to lie and get away with it...

Mistakes are made in war... when you blow up a house with a 2,000 lb bomb, its not easy to do bomb assesment on individual people.

I am just glad we got another bad guy off the street!!

The left pretends not to understand the fog of war -- they're still trying to figure out why Iraq isn't 100% secure yet. If a war is not won in a day and everything back to normal on day 2, it's a foreign policy failure, you know.

lol...we aint pretending shit....

Fair is fair..... The right called Clinton onto the carpet for lying about having an affair.... A move that was designed to save his marriage, not his career... The right took it so far as to have actual fucking impeachment proceedings over it....

Now, we have a president that, by all appearances, lied to the world and worse yet, his own country in order to use military force to gain control of middle eastern oil reserves at the cost of several hundred U.S. military lives, several thousand Iraqi lives, the U.S.'s reputation in the U.N. and throughout the world and when we call on it we are accused of not getting it because of our liberal commie pinko upbringing...

We get it fine....

Bush lied in order to further his and his cronies agenda....

Have we been lied to before, yes... Have we ended up at war as a result of being lied to in the past, yes..... Why is this any different ?? Because of what was done to Bill Clinton... Plain and simple....

What's fair is fair......

edited to fix a typo, not to change the gist of it.....

Damn someone is a little bitter....

Who cares about Clinton and Lewinsky? It was all a red herring.... Who cares about blowjobs and lying abut it?

The Clinton problems go much deeper then this, and impact us today... including this war on terrorism.

How come I hear the "Church Lady's" voice when I read that...lol...

anyway, I have to go take an out of town visitor up to the casinos...so, I do not have time to go deep right this second....

I will however be back later and I am sure that I will have something to say then... :agrin:

Bottom line is you cant believe a damn thing you hear right now on the news, everything from Blackout to Chemical Ali seems a little twisty.

Timon 08-21-2003 10:59 PM

It was the Brittish who claimed Chemical Ali was killed so just blame it on them ;-)

Mike AI 08-21-2003 11:05 PM

Bottom line is, Chemical Ali is caught and is not gassing civilians any longer.

I am sure the liberals and the french would love for the US to release him, since I am sure we violated some of his "civil rights" or something.

This is something we should all be cheering!!!

Yes indeed... and I'd rather see him waste away in Guantanamo Bay, death is too easy!

PornoDoggy 08-21-2003 11:36 PM

When I made the initial post I was not aware, or at least did not remember, that the government had revealed back in June that they probably missed him. I am glad he's been captured. The elimination of the remnants of the Bathist regime will certainly help make Iraq a safer place. Marginally safer - far more marginally safer than can be communicated in Rummyspeak - but every little bit helps. Haul his ass to the Hauge and try him for crimes against humanity is my personal opinion - or better yet, try him under Islamic law, where they have an appreciation for human and prisoner rights that makes John Ashchrist's pussy wet.

It is kind of amusing to see the bobble-headed Bush apologists chime in with their usual prerecorded announcements. "Blah-blah-blah Liberals blah-blah-blah France." Perhaps it is bothering me more than usual tonight as I spent an hour and a half watching MS-RNC on television, so I've had just about enough Bushspin chewed up, digested, and spoon fed to me as I can stand. Yes, it's true that a 2,000# bomb makes identification difficult. It is equally true that every spindoctor intern knows that a retraction NEVER gets the coverage of the incorrect story it is issued to clarify. So - what kind of mistake was made?

Just so you know, Buffy, not all liberals are ignorant of the fog of war. Some of us are not confused by, or refuse to buy into, the fog of a PR machine. It is neither liberal or conservative to fail to be convinced of the safety created either for our nation or our troops by attempts to pass off "War Lite" as actually doing something constructive.

I agree it was a war and we did everything short of dropping a Dozen Roses for everyone in Iraq, and still no one is happy. Fuck CA, better yet before he sist in Cuba for the rest of his life we should jam an oversized plunger in his ass so everytime he goes to sit down he remembers all the innocent people that he killed and gassed to death.

Gimme a break ... "we did everything short of dropping a Dozen Roses for everyone in Iraq"? You think the average Iraqi's life is one bit better today than it was before the war? Do you think it shows any sign of improving soon?

Unless we get a lot more boots on the ground, what we will have accomplished is turning Iraq into Afghanistan.

Mikey, you really need to quit listening to Torone's radio station.

JR 08-22-2003 02:56 AM

i was watching the British Ambassador to the UN give a speech on BBC yesterday about all the progress made in Iraq in the last couple months... hospitals functioning fully and fully equiped, services being restored, schools rebuilt, medicine, vaccinations, police forces in place, army being rebuilt, locally elected goverments in all major cities etc etc etc... the list was quite long.

interesting that it all that could happen and escape the attention of the media. :(

Good news is boring, the media only reports on disasters.

If the power is out it's front page news, when it's restored you'll never hear about it.

Finally getting back to this thread.... lol, couldn't remember which one it was.....

As to who cares... Well, apparently enough of the right cared enough about it to make it a federal case....

And through it all, the emphasis was on the fact that Bill Clinton had "lied".

Now we have a president, that from all appearances thus far, also lied... and at a cost that was a lot higher than Clinton's transgression....

And we have right wingers defending him in his lying....

If lying is wrong, then it is wrong... plain and simple... If the right is going to maintain that Clinton should have been raked over the coals about Lewinsky then they have to accept it when their man is raked over the coals over his lies.....

As I sais... fair is fair....

I will address the rest of your post in another post :)

To be honest with you I personally can care less about each individual's Iraq citizens life, I dont know them, and dont care to. On the other hand do i think it's better over there? I would say from my outside of Iraq, US eyes, yeah much better, the old crazy fuck and his two asshole psycho sons are gone, thats a pretty good thing in my eyes, I didnt trust the bitch in 1990 and didnt trust him anymore when everything started this time around.

if I were personally living in Iraq, i would have to say iI certainly would think it's better, especially if I were a woman, knowing I could walk the streets and no longer have the chance of one of Asshole's kid's grabbing me, rapping me, cutting of my arms and legs and letting me bleed to death being an issue. Thats a slight improvment for over there.

So overall in my beedy little eye's yes it seems improved, and not anytime soon, Already.

Im not feeling more boots on the ground, especially not US Boots.
