I just watched 'Mr Smith Goes To Washington' again - what a great film. It got me thinking about which old black and white films I enjoy the most.
Of course, Casablanca and Citizen Cain are up there but the one I enjoy the most has to be an old Cary Grant film adaptation of a play called Arsenic and Old Lace. How about you, do you have a favorite old black and white movie? |
Dr Strangelove,
1964 Stanley Kubrick film starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott about Nuclear Destruction. Also who can forget Steve McQueen, Bullitt. |
B&W would have to be Casablanca. And I'm still a sucker for It's a Wonderful Life.
I love An Affair to Remember even though it's in color. |
At the risk of sounding corny.. one of my favorite movies for years growing up was Goodbye Mr. Chips.. and another on a similar theme.. Blackboard Jungle
must have had a teacher fascination.. although if that is correct, it's a worry how they were both about male teachers :\ I did have a hottie teacher in 5th grade named Miss Dal Santo ... |
How old ?
Logan's Run, Planet of the Apes, and Clockwork Orange. (These are all old now) |
