There are reports that the Westin is booked for Thursday. This sucks because I'm leaving Sunday which means if they ARE booked on Thursday, then there's no way for me to meet the 3 night minimum.

THEN I heard that there's a convention that ends on the 31st and some of the members are staying over an additional night, which ticks me off if WE'RE supposed to have the hotel to ourselves.

I called the 888 number listed on the Internext website and they referred me to a 954 number. I called it and had to leave a message. That was several hours ago and nothing.

Has everyone else already booked their rooms? If not - then are you able to book Thursday night? :(

And if worse comes to worse - what's another decent hotel that's VERY near the Westin?

Peaches, I JUST booked mine last Thursday and was able to get a regular(cheapest) room on Thursday/Friday/Sat. with no problems .. I must have got one of the last ones lol ..

I have had my room booked for a while now, sorry that I cant help.

I called the 954 number, she said everything was completly sold out, but you could put your name on the waiting list. It also says that only suites have the three day minimum.

I also made the speculation that there is a conference that is ending on the 31 that might have stayovers, however, that is not verifiable. That came from previous reports that thursday was sold out but friday wasnt. They should have reserved the 31st in our block, otherwise, anyone else staying over (if they are staying over) they are in for a nasty shock once we get there :-)

I'm contemplating not even going.
I haven't booked a room or reserved my pass.

If I go, I might fly down for a day and fly back in the evening. While enjoy spending time with friends and partying... I'm just too busy to justify the time.

In the past, many of the "deals" that were made at the show fell through. I'm pretty sure it's because either:

1) Someone was drunk and was talking shit
2) Someone was trying to impress someone around us, and talked shit
3) Business took a nosedive after the show and was inavoidable.

Not 1 deal from the last show was completed... there were a lot of bullshitters.

Now don't get me wrong, I did business with people I met at the show.. just not the "deals" that were discussed at the show... and business came later.

Don Johnson Suite at the Holiday Inn was open...but if your staying down there youd best keep it quiet. I Intentionally stayed off site so I could survive this year.

Has anyone actually ever STAYED at this HI? Someone from another board said there's no AC in the elevators or hallways and not much in the lobby. Their wording:

"The weston is 4 star the Holiday Inn is maybe a 2 - 2-1/2 star tops."

Gonzo - we might have to pick somewhere else to stay. No AC in every square inch of a hotel in FL in July/August will cause me to do a lot of what we Southern Gals do - glow.

Holiday is is ok. It's not the Westin but it's so close you can walk. I didn't stay at the hotel last year. I drove over for the day, sometimes went back home and then came back in the evening for a few hours. I'm not the party animal type or at least in large crowds. Now is someone built a dungeon or something to that effect, I'd check it out.

My main reason to go is to make some face to face contacts. See friends in the biz, etc. I have a feeling that it's not going to be that great this year. If I lived outside of Florida I doubt I'd go.

It's so fucking hot here. Why anyone would want to come to Florida in the summer is beyond me.

News Flash--

I will be in the bar most of the time. Got to collect my affiliate earnings some how...so if I drink in the CE lounge again that should put me almost at break even for last year and then we can collect free pizza at Brads booth as well.

If all is lost we can swill beer from the sexmoney folks.

I dont know about you but I dont hang out in the halls or the elevators at the hotels. The place is for me to get away from the show...take a shower and maybe shoot some content.

GonZo was admiring an aqua and mauve colored monstrousity of a room over at the art deco Ramada Inn. It did have one wall that was nothing but a mirror.

It comes with the added bonus of being able to jam to Merv and the Magictones' rendition of the Miami Vice theme down in the Ramada Room.
