I couldn't believe some of the responses.

Immediately saying the "whole industry" went to illegal child porn

To the outside world, we are, and always will be pornographers complete with all of the negative stigmatisms that go along with the title.

I've mentioned this before, but when my best friends from HS, that I've known almost 25 years found out I was in porn, their first response - every one of them - was "You're not doing that child porn stuff, are you?". :(

And these are people that KNOW I'd never even THINK of doing anything of the sort. It hurt my feelings until I realized it was just a knee jerk reaction that EVERY one seems to have when you mention "porn". And every single one of them has their own home video tapes, buys mags, DVDs, videos etc. so they aren't prudes.

Those are the females. The males all say - "Give me the URL to your sites - and a password if I need one!" :headwall:

The guys are bad about that. When you're not around, particularly when they're with their wives, they'll look down at you for being involved in porn.

But then one on one when no one else is around, they come begging for passwords.

I suspect it is better in Europe. In the U.S. people are still just too uptight about sex and nudity. You can have as much violence as you want in movies and other entertainment, but no sex.

My theory was that you can fake violence and viewers know someone didn't REALLY die or bleed out on the street. But it's a little harder to fake sex - they really ARE touching, kissing, licking and such. B)

The video store used to laugh at me when I rented PG-13 or R movies for the kid - violence? Fine. Sex? Forget it. Now he's a non-violent horndog.

That's strange. All of my friends would love to somehow be in the porn business. But then again, they are all in the music business so their morals are a but different than most folks.

Pornwolf, I get the same reaction. I keep things low key most of the time, but when I get to a certain point with someone I tell them what I do.

Most people I come across are very intreagued by porn, especially internet porn. Infact, many of my friends ( who are not in the biz) brag to other people about their friends the "porn king" - of course when I meet these people I have to spend 30 minutes explaning what I really do.

It is not that glamorous.... well, at least most of the time it is not.

:D

I hate that association... (porn = CP).....it really gets my goat.

Even though the last post was over a week ago, I just had to post to set the record straight...lol.

Peaches,
I hear ya on the violence vs. sex .....a very mixed up world we live in...
