1. They are fishy, I agree.

2. I didn't get any spams from them.

3. If they spammed on GFY, then I'll have a chat with the team back at the office. I was at Ibill for the last 2 days.

4. The "business model" is illegal according to the Visa regs.

Get Him CJ

Winetalk.com 04-24-2003 06:51 AM

Forest,
give him a break...

he was brainwashed for 2 days by IBill people and had his red eye flight delayed for 3 hours in Dallas, he is stressed and in the need of the Xanax.

He'll get over it
;-)))

Naughty 04-24-2003 06:55 AM

I'd say their spam sucked, but this is quite some good stuff. EVERYbody knows what swoit is (or at least heard the name), people who actually want to use it will do anyway.

Hilarious how people keep starting threads on it.

Forest 04-24-2003 06:55 AM

Serge

he is a moron

He is just jealous because he didnt come up with this idea first

Look for an adult.com copy cat shortly

He is good at that

I think if it was un intentional that it did them GOOD

if it was done on purpose and Planned this way

BRILLIANT!!!!

Forest 04-24-2003 07:38 AM

who wants to bet Lens has a headache 5 minutes after he wakes up

:biglaugh:

Rolo 04-24-2003 07:50 AM

Do not think its illegal, but I do think that some content providers will not like it.

And whats not to stop the content providers to cut out the middle man (the paysite owner) and just add their own feeds and keep 40% to themself?

In that case, then future paysite owners will have to make systems like swoit, and only earn 10%...

10% is better than bank interest rate! :bjump:

Rolo 04-24-2003 08:18 AM

Resellers and content providers are going to be the next millionaires... I´m going to start alot of TGPs so I can get into thís goldrush :)

Anybody want to star in my new reality content productions?:

"PaysiteOwnerFight" - showing poor, and drunk paysites owners fight!

"BackseatPaysiteOwners" - picking up poor paysites owners!

cj 04-24-2003 08:58 AM

Lensman sounds a bit bitter doesn't he?

or is it just me that senses that?

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAA

waiting to see what reasons he comes up with ... hope they are good

cj 04-24-2003 09:00 AM

Rolo, heaps of good points ...

I guess we'll see the answers soon enough ;-)

So far I have seen two things getting alot of attention:

1. The name "SWOIT" - what does it mean?
2. Who sold them the webmaster e-mails?

Which leaves me with 2 questions for CJ:

1. What does "SWOIT" mean?
2. Who sold you the webmaster e-mails?

If we can get these solved today, then we can get back to work... if not, then the mystery will continue to grow with webmasters all over the world...

Don't we already have a show like this? It's called a "webmaster event" - lol Just add alcohol and then mix, shake or stir and you've got a ton of webmaster reality programming just waiting to happen.

I seriously doubt that Swoit will be able to kill all of the paysites, and keep people from signing up at paysites, and forcing all the paysites to just get their 10%. I'm sure the people at Swoit would be happy if that were the case, and I hope CJ makes a mint no matter what happens :)).

Also, I don't understand why the content providers would be pissed. They sell their content to everyone including paysites, TGP, AVS, etc. The way I see it, being pissed at Swoit would be the same as being pissed at paysites for having a shitload of members.

I also don't see how Swoit could be illegal. It doesn't sound in any way illegal to me, as long as the content remains in the paysite (which is the way I understand Swoit to work).

The marketing campaign was genius in my estimation. Everyone bitching about the spam is absolutely ridiculous. The whining and crying about it being sent to their kid's email address. The list was obviously targeted to Adult Webmasters, if you are an Adult Webmaster then expect a fucking email. It seems to me it was simply a VERY comprehensive list of email addy's. And if you don't want to get spam, then don't publish your email address ANYWHERE. Jesus, I hate people whining about spam.

Lastly, I think Swoit is a good idea, and has a lot to offer to not only affiliates but "partners" or paysite owners. It gives everyone a new avenue for revenue and generates different traffic to paysites. I don't however think it will revolutionize anything. It is just a new way to make money in the adult industry.

That is all.

dantheman 04-24-2003 12:11 PM

t-rav, good post bro :)

which got me thinking, CJ hey can you send me that mailing list I have something coming soon that I need to tell all the adult webmasters on the net :rokk:
