Saw your post in the "blah' thread and thought it would be interesting to see what the Opranoites came up with for you for your little get away for a couple days!! :rokk: I've always asked people about their vacations and often have followed suggestions I enjoyed!

Ok folks. Remember she's in Georgia and she only wants to get away for a couple days so that excludes exotic trips that rerquire a lot of travel hassles!!

I saw you like hiking so I suggest a trip to North carolina to check out the Blue Ridge and/or Smokey mountains!! I'll do my best totry and vet voo to paint while you are gone!! :okthumb:

Yay! A good start! :bjump: :bjump: :bjump:

I'm actually thinking Chicago in a couple of weeks B) I have friends there, and Delta always seems to have a $108 RT Weekly fare special. And then I can REALLY complain about it being cold, hehehe.

But keep the ideas coming - I can never have too many trips and I'm sure I can find other things for Vooman to do around my house!

Delta flies into St Maarten either two or three days a week right now during the season... it's a great place to go and check out -- beaches, fun stuff, the dollar is the currency, even tho the island is half dutch and half french most all the inhabitants speak English...

Peaches, have you ever been to St. Simons Island, there in GA? I read a series of novels set there and it's on my list of places to visit when I'm free to travel (read: when the kid starts college, 7 LONG years from now). It's supposed to be a beautiful place, steeped in history -- and it's close by for you. And please, if you've already visited, tell me what it's like!

You could always come out to LA... I'd be happy to hook you up with a VIP tour of the WB lot, and take you sightseeing in Hollywood. And hey, a little bit of porn conversation and you can write the whole thing off! :biglaugh:

It USED to be great - I lived for a couple of years as a kid in Savannah and then went to college in Statesboro, so St. Simons was somewhere we'd run to for the day from both places. Unfortunately, it's gotten too commercial and crowded for my tastes :( If you're looking for a nice, uncrowded beach in that area, go to Cumberland Island. Admittedly I haven't been in about 10 years and things may have changed, but it used to be you had to take a ferry there (no cars) and could only stay overnight if you camped or stayed in one of 2 or 3 places. It's where John Carolyn Kennedy were married. Jekyll Island's also there - and while it's also over-commercialized IMHO, the Jekyll Island Club is a wonderful place.

Another place I'm considering - I'd want to take at least a week though. That's more of a "plan" trip, not an impluse one - but don't be surprised if I decide to plan it soon! :bjump:

Hmmmm - this looks VERY promising...I'm not going to the Outer Banks this year and I'll need a beach to get my fix. Crowded? I'm not big on sharing :awinky:

It surely can't be worse than Chicago! But you're the only person I know there and I'm sure you'd get "sick" and I'd be stranded at the airport waiting for my return flight :nyanya: (hey, I'm trying to unseat Luke......deal with it B) )
