Well we've got the official thread on the State of the Union. So what dare I ask, did you guys think of the Democrat's response?
In case you missed it, here is the transcript: http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/01/28/...ript/index.html One part of the response I liked was the part that dealt with the deficit. I'm all for tax cuts, but there needs to be SPENDING cuts to go along with it. No more huge deficits. Last edited by Sword at Jan 29 2003, 01:23 AM |
It is easier to rule from opposition, your theories are never tested...
But I would have to say I am concerned with huge tax breaks combined with huge new spending... someone is going to have to pay for that one of these days. Alex |
arent you from canada alex?
no disrespect, but why do you care about usa economic matters regarding taxes? not like i give a hoot about canadian tax policy. |
It was good. Pretty calm. Definitely seemed to be crafted to not attack Bush or the Republican agenda too strongly which may either be:
1. Wise - Bush is enjoying good but slipping approval ratings and maybe they are waiting for further weakness before making stronger statements. 2. Weak - coming across as passive and waiting too long. I think the response had to be as such because no one knows what will be revealed Feb 5. The current administration is much craftier than some are giving them credit for. This Feb 5 thing is really wily. |
Most of you are too young to remember when the State of The Union message didn't require a response...
