Anyone else notice that since the the fall of the Berlin wall, Russians have been invading our perfect western world in droves?
Their own economy is in shambles, so here they come to the west to take jobs away from us, and create a new mob full of pock-mark faced Bolshevics who all speak with "ridiculous accent" and drink shitty vodka. If you see a Russian, he is most likely a recent immigrant. So shooo him out of your neighborhood, but not into mine! Vive le USA! Down with the Red Menace! |
Them pesky Russians are drinkin' up all of our Absolut Kurrant Vodka too!!!
And they eat pickles with vodka, how Russian of them! And they feed the shit out of you 'till you can't breath anymore when you go over for dinner!!! :nyanya: |
EC,
I dissagree with this thread in more ways than I can even state. If you was in their possition, you would be running to the states just like they are. People cannot help what nationality they are born. |

Don't take this stuff too seriously... :inlove: |
If you read the Best selling book, " The Millionaire Next Door" you would learn that Russians are the best imigrants when it comes to making money, saving money, and working hard.
Most Russians also understand the concept of freedom, and can appreciate Libery and other important aspects that the US was built upon. ( many times they appreciate it more then Americans who have been here for Generations). The Russians are proud people, with a long history..... and at one time was a SuperPower. What does Canada have going for it? Other then being the neighbor of a peaceful Giant who has provided protection for over 100 years without appreciation. Canada is almost a big of a joke as France.... at least France had some glory days under Napolean. Though I am tending to agree with Rumsfield, france, and germany are the old Europe - they are passe. Mere Liliputions trying to tie up Gulliver ( USA) |

The speed with which the current Adminstration has and is squandering the wave of sympathy and cooperation that we received after 9/11 is breathtaking. The crude, clumsy segue from the war on terror to the focus on Iraq has destroyed it. The fact that Rumsfeld and other morons can dismiss the opinion of France and Germany because, I suppose, we have the support of Latvia, Luxembourg and Italy shows just how out of touch with reality some people are. And anyway - which great AM radio host did you borrow the phrase Liliputions from? |

Hmmmmm In any metrics you want to use, the US trumps Canada a majority of the time. Economicly, Militarily, Health Care, Science, Art, Movies, Entertainment, whatever.... Canada is not a third world nation or anything, and I am glad we have Canada as a northern neighbor rather then someone hostile to us, or really poor like Mexico. Quote:
As far as Europe... France and Germany in particular. France has oil contracts and eagerly does business with terrorist states including Iraq. France has always done the opposite of our stance just for the sake of being different, they see themselves as a European counter balance to us.... Come on EVEN liberals make fun of the french!! Germany is the country who wants to continue selling equipmentthat would help Iraq build nuclear weapons, chemcial and biological weapons. Both countrieds cannot see past their nose, and the big photo. Also I have a sneaky feeling they are pulling for hte Arabs to hurt the US and Israel... there is a LARGE wave of Anti-Semetism going through Europe... So you support them in that? Quote:

No, other than being cold as hell outside I'm not having a bad night ... and yes, I've heard rumors that conservatives do read books other than Atlas Shrugged :) Some of them aren't even Golden Books, I'm told. :D
Just so you know, I don't even LIKE Gordon Lightfoot - but dismissing a nation as a joke because they are not the United States is pretty small minded, IMHO. I think the suggestion that France and Germany are secretly support Iraq against us are bogus, the whole antisemitism charge is completely paranoid, and put together form a red herring ... if herrings get to the size of whales. Please don't think I'm dismissing anti-semitism, because I'm not. I don't see it as national policy in either nation, however, and I think the idea that it has a role in their middle east policies is absurd. I take to being accused of antisemitism about as well as I do to being called unpatriotic, because it is a flat-out lie. I don't think that the interests of Isreal and the interests of the United States are always the same, and have a somewhat cynical view of nations that have committed espionage against my country and killed twice as many sailors as were killed on the Cole without ever giving a remotely satisfactory explanation. I think some factions in Isreal have made every effort to sabataouge any prospect of peace. If you want to twist that around and call it antisemitism, go for it. It is, however, a totally separate discussion from and really has no place whatsoever in, this one. France and Germany are the two preiminent powers in Europe. They always have been, and they always will be. Only a moron can dismiss them as "irrelevant." They do not seem as quick to want war as some of the folks in the White House, and I, at least, would have hoped for a more intelligent comment from the SecDef that what he made. Could be that politicians on that side of the pond are doing the same thing they are doing on THIS side of the pond - playing as much to domestic audiences as they are to international audiences. |
