I'm coming into some information that doesnt look very good for them... includes screenshots, correspondence, acknowledgment that they have stolen signups.

I'm trying to decide what the best course of action is here.

What do you think?

Hoop, while I would like to see the evidence, and of course their reaction - the reality is that a majority of major programs shave some way or other. I imagine Platinum Bucks response is going to be "So what?" Then they will go into how much they pay out webmasters, blah blah blah....

I would be interested personally since I do send a decent amount of signups to them.

Well i happen to really like dave and albert.. that guy dan is another story, he seems like kind of a prick in my opinion.

But the story is pretty simple really. We sent a tiny tiny bit of traffic (mind you that it usually generates about 100 joins but with platinum it only made 11 joins)... Que Ce'ra Ce'ra...

So they tell me their going to send their optin mailer to me to make up for the shitty conversions and to show how sorry they are. So they start sending away and suprise suprise that it was about as dirty an email list as it gets. 40 spam cop complaints an hour is about what we were getting. So i told them i couldnt accept the traffic anymore cause verio got mad and redirected it to a completely blank 404 page that just said "account terminated".. sure i coulda kept getting the traffic some how, but it woulda been bad imho.

So then dave gets all mad at me, threats etc..etc.. i tell him i'm sorry but i cant help you right now because i'll get shut down.

Soooo... on the 16th my invoicing guy takes this screenshot of the stats cause thats what we do:

Today my invoicing guy is comparing checks to screenshots and notices a discrepancy... 100 bucks was the check and 485 was the invoice. So he contacts platinum bucks and the talk to their "programmer" who makes the 11 signups disappear and accordingly *corrects* the problem.

So after a few hours (god this is a lot of work for a few bucks eh?) they finally decide to tell us some b.s. about how they were moving stats from one account to another and it *inadvertently* ended up in our account and that it was a mistake and they wont be paying us.

Its' not actually a very well thought out shave imho... probably more of an emotional knee jerk reaction to being shut down.

Thats my story and i'm stickin to it.

You would be suprised how many times I have seen this with many programs.

Of course it seems like you have a special issue that does not necessarily involve institutional shaving, but rather a "Lets fuck Hoop" type things. Luckily for you, your guys grabbed the screen shots.... and now PB is trying to cover their ass.

It is interesting, and something everyone should pay attention to and take note of.

Without taking sides since I have no first hand knowledge of the situation, how does one get 5 cross-sells worth $100 at $20 each, if they don't get any sales in the first place?

For what it's worth, I do decent ratios at PB (on the real count)....not great, but not the huge stinkbomb I have gotten with some people, either...they are average, which is all one can hope for these days...

Where are the great converters?

I have to take the Platinumbucks side on this (nobody asked me to take sides) , the reason is because I am the mailer (not spammer) that send the 11 joins to studtoons (wrong account) for one of my clients. ( We manage alot of people's mailing lists ) .
The studtoons html email was sent to us hardcoded with another affiliates id - we didn't notice and sent it out. We realized that there was a mistake the next day and told Platinumbucks - they switched the joins to our account. I guess in switching the joins to our account they inadvertently placed them in Hoopers account for a short while. Anyways , I just wanted to speak my mind because it sucks seeing someone get blasted for something they didn't do.

I call bullshit Greg. The account "mistake" didnt get corrected til today and was up for 30 days.. it didnt get "adjusted" til today about 30 minutes after we inquired about where the money was.

To top it off somebody else posted on another board that those 11 joins were theirs!

To be honest Hooper I havn't talked with Platinumbucks these particular 11 joins you are both fighing about.
I know that we sent an html mailer to studtoons about a month ago (I can get you exact date and time when I get into my office tomorrow) and it went to the wrong account. We contacted them and were told that it did 11 joins and we would get credit on the joins. We have since been given credit on 11 joins.
I probably jumped the gun claiming that they were generated from us , it just seems very likely that it was the mailer that we sent out. 11 joins studtoons that went to wrong account.
Anyways, I don't even know the people at Platinumbucks that well and I have nothing to gain by lying.

We mailed SLUTtoons.. not STUDtoons.

They're trying to get you to defend their theivery.

To top it off somebody else posted on another board that those 11 joins were theirs!

To me it seems the real person at fault is the person who fucked up the mailer and put the wrong code in. Hey buddy, you fuck up - you eat the loss. He is the person who should be making it right.

The amount of $$ is so trivial, I am suprised PB did not just pay out everyone and move on....
