What do these football terms mean?

NFC North Playoff Scenarios
BEARS can clinch first-round bye with:
  1. BEARS win + New York Giants loss + Carolina Panthers loss.
BEARS can clinch playoff berth with:
  1. Washington Redskins loss or tie, OR
  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss
???

Re: What do these football terms mean?

If the Bears win while the Giants and Panthers lose, then they clinch the division title and earn an off-week during the first round of playoffs.

I'm pretty sure that the second scenario refers to clinching a wild card berth.

Re: What do these football terms mean?

"Bears" refers to a gang of fat hairy gay dudes who like to take steam baths together and talk about baking.

Any context it has with respect to football is unclear.

Great. I get a penis that doesn't know what it's doing.... :hmm:

Sorry, Steve, thought that was funny. :)

You can have your penis back and I'll provide several lusty professional ladies to kiss it and make it better. They'll explain football to you, too. :)

Re: What do these football terms mean?

Playoff Berth = Guaranteed in the playoffs

Division Lock = Guaranteed to win their divisional title

Hope that helps :)

Re: What do these football terms mean?

P.S. Wildcard talk won't come in to heavy talk until the last week of the season where there will be alot of speculation - and alot of 9-7 teams trying to get in on their last wheel..

If they get a wildcard berth, there are wild card playoffs - which leads to a spot in the actual playoffs... Trying to remember the last time a WildCard one, for some reason I'm thinking it was the 90's but that just doesn't seem right. I'm thinking St. Louis too, but I know that has too be wrong...

grimm...I lived in Louisville, KY, for a long time, and the Bengals were as close to a "home team" as we had. I'm so very pleased that they're doing well this year. :okthumb:

Amen to that Grim !!!

I am impressed with the Bengals this year... Haven't watched alot this year unfortunately but... someone told me to watch out for them this year during our FFL draft - I spat the beer I was drinking out all over my little brother who told me that... Little shit is at Western (editor of his paper) and heads the sports section - should of listened to him... LOL

I don't see 4 in a row being a problem for them if they stick to their game. Their team is just starting to re-align and DAMN they looked good last week.

Personally I am looking forward to Bears Versus Pats Super Bowl!

And if it happens, OMG - I'm going to have to get a 2nd mortgage or WHATEVER it takes to get to that game... I'm dead serious !!

Long time Chicago fan... Football Wise the only time I even close to strayed was when I had Warner in FFL and St Louis was rushing.
