How is Steve Goldman a scammer?
Steve Goldman would start up an exit (or sponsor) program, run it for 2 or 3 months, then shut it down. During this 2 or 3 month period, he would pay only on a small amount of webmasters in his program. This means, the majority of webmasters in his program were left out in the cold (In some cases, some of these guys RELIED on the money owed for desperate situations). Steve Goldman did not care who he ripped off, or how much he ripped people off for! Some of the webmasters not paid were owed thousands of dollars!


How this scammer avoided payments:

Payment was never mailed out. (He would claim that payments were sent, and would keep this lie going for several weeks)
Steve would knowingly send out checks which were returned as NSF. (This is just fucking cheap)
He would just shut his program down and disappear.

Goldman / Trafalgar Marketing have offices in central london (alledgedly) although, the address he gave me several years ago was actually a PO box in, strangely enough, Trafalgar Square.

I beleive they also have a Canadian mailing address which is where i actually DID get paid from for an ad spot they took out.

I used to know him (note the past tense)...many years ago. AD did the design for virgintime.com (yes he did used to own it).

I have no idea where or what he is now, but I've heard most of the stories and have no doubt they are true, on the complainants part.

Come now, we have people doing more then that in a few months, and are hailed as industry leaders.

People have done much more damage to this industry, directly and indirectly for years - and are NEVER called out - they are hailed as "players".

What about billing companies that are over 3 weeks float on payments, yet donate your money to tsunami victems and blow money on extragent lifestyles?

Mike, while your points do have some validity, I must admit ... there are many differences with Goldman and the others

The others, whether it's shave, or whatever, has for the most part been speculative ... that is, heresay, not proved ... even if there were some that "we all know about" ... it's still in the realm of speculation as there's no solid proof (except for the several moronic companies that had unprotected systems, their shaving admin screens get plastered across GFY and they disapper) ... but none of them were "players" to begin with.

With Goldman, it's out and out fraud ... and each new venture and new alias is set up for one reason and one only, to screw webmasters. Even the sponsors and others you mention, Mike, didn't derive 100% of their income from fraud and shaving ... hence the name "shave" as in "off the top". Goldman does it out and out for that reason only.

My name is Mike (AKA GalleryGuy) and I know how it feels when you end up with Steve and all his scams.

I remember Steve had a board called "Adult Webmaster Village" well over 2 years ago and he called me day and night about designs, traffic, ect. At that point I didn't know he was a cheater.

One day my mother was rushed to the hospital and things looked really bad. That didn't stop Steve though. When I got back from the hospital (the same day as she was rushed there) he called me and started yelling at me on the phone and told me to, and I quote; "get the fucking design done now idiot so I can get the shit up and running. After that I wasn't paid in full of course.

I swear I will spend quite a lot of time and money on hunting that idiot down.

Good thing was/is that I move quite a bit of traffic around every day so my main income is not from designs (I only design because I enjoy it) so I could afford the loss. Some people lost a LOT more than I did and I really feel bad for those people.

But being told you're an idiot the same day you see your mother fighting for her life is REALLY bad for any temper :)

They are not the same persons, but very close friends.
Back in '99 I worked for Jack Morton getting in new clients for provisions and made some great money from it, but when Cybererotica closed their contract with bimbocash Jack closed down his programs too.
A few years after Steve Goldman remembered that bimbocash still had a very good reputation so he openned a exit program on bimbocash.com
he had all the details to do so because Steve and Jack where very good friends just living a few blocks from each other.
Originally I was owed around $2500 by Steve Goldman but he managed to pay me back around $1000 the last 2 times he started up a new business.
I got somewhere a Fedex envelope from a check send from Steve and also saved a $2500 NSF check from him somewhere as a reminder to myself.
Steve from OA internet services also seems to be good friends with this guy, at least a few years ago but he always refused to give me any details about him.
Steve Goldman seems to be using the name Trafalgar a lot since he grew up somewhere around Trafalgar Square or whatever it is called in London and his family live there, he live in Montreal somewhere last I heard.
And for the records, anyone receiving checks from HSBC bank from steve can be 90% sure they will bounce, that is the bank he use to cut bad checks.
He also claim he is unable to make "wire transfers"
There should be pictures somewhere since I heard he was working as staff for CE once, that is not confirmed though, but they should be fully aware of his scams.

Sent just enough traffic to make minimum payout and waited, got paid in rubber pounds. <_<
