End of an era. I cut my teeth on that board.

This is silly. It's like a friggin wake for a flat message board that's nothing but spam now anyway.
Netpond is still there, message boards are still there... no reason for all of this dumb drama.

I owe alot to that board, it's more than what you think, but then again, you would have had to be there.

It was "The Board" no questions or doubts in my mind.

damm 10's and hundreds of people reloading all day and night. Oprano and a couple of other boards a great you know. Lots of online friends, biz talk, etc.

But when the flat boards stopped, and threaded came in it seemed to loose a little of the closeness or something, I don't know.

I remember talking with Mikeai and Serge, saying to compete, get with the times, etc you need to change oprano from flat to threaded. Serge didn't want it at first, Mike was worried too. I was pushing for it, now thinking back, it was the right choice, but the right choice isn't always the best choice :)

Serge no doubt about it, you helped make Netpond very popular also :)

I posted my first CONFUCY comment on Netpond.

Meat welcomed me and allowed me to do my thing.

NetPond has to be experiencing some down turn to let most all project managers go, and closing the flat board etc.....

Heard they were gonna D/C the Statistician and now they announce they are gonna keep it alive.....but I wonder how old the stats are.....they said it was not profitable and they got a riff going with the ex-project manager.

Shame to see NetPond #1 back slide to God knows what position, but its the times and dunno how they could have prevented the slide.

Was the Netpond (well Condom board actually) that got me started in this biz...hell it was Anthony that critiqued my first site..LOL

Was a great place to learn and network, even if the water got a little warm and yellow now and then. :P

I have very fond memories of old Netpond, and

If your doubt it ask Carrie...I was enrolled in the beta brigade.

and all the time I was posting on that flat board. It was my HOME.

Don't assume to tell me how I should and shouldn't feel or that I'm being a newbie because I'm not moaning over a script that's simply been replaced with a better script.

Netpond is still there. Meat and Aga are still there. Jayman, Bree... they're still there. It's STILL Netpond. It's STILL offering up a ton of resources to anyone who needs them, good information, help for newbies, and especially - message boards for community and networking.

The old gorilla isn't dead. He simply upgraded, and this sentimental crap is just that... crap.

If you guys were truly so damn sentimental about Netpond and it was SO important to you, you'd still be there posting and they wouldn't have to close that board down, now would they?
