Hey folks! I've been lurking over at GFY and AmateurMasters for a long while now, and finally someone in Vegas said "Come post on Oprano." So I considered myself officially invited and signed up when I got home. So hullo everyone! It was great to meet the faces I met in Vegas, and for the folks I didn't meet, I hope to see you there next year! :D

Goodness, it'll be worth it to stay here just for the kickass smilie collection!

That's me on the right :)

OMG there's an Orco smilie. That's it, I'm staying! :redance:

Once upon a time not so long ago, in a land not so far away...

Myself, Shemp, TenLetters and StuartD had decided to skip out on the Player's Ball to check out the Krispy Kreme alternative. We journeyed to the upstairs food court at the Venetian at around midnight on that fateful evening. Upon finding only four other people in the food court, we decided that we had missed the party and so decided to begin our very own.

We chose a suitable table and Shemp whipped out a 20$ with which to acquire the appropriate party supplies. TenLetters and I, as it turned out, had never tasted the wonder that is Krispy Kreme before, so we were quite excited to rid ourselves of our donut virginity. After waiting in line at the counter for a few minutes, it was our turn to order our sugary nuggets of heaven.

Even though it appeared to be our turn (we were standing squarely under the "Order Here" sign), the Krispy Kreme employee was busily filling countless boxes of dozens of donuts straight of the conveyor belt. Oh yes, he saw us. He didn't smile, but I suppose you could say he nodded. After filling about 6 boxes, he finally turned his full attention to us. TenLetters suggested, "We could just take one of these boxes." But no! The loyal employee stopped his hand and replied, "No! These are for them!" He waved his gloved hand at the food court behind us.

Them? We both looked around the foodcourt. Other than the two men at our own table, only five people were present, and they were leaving. But we gamely shrugged our shoulders and waited for him to assemble a box of donuts specially for us.

We enjoyed our box of donuts, but we never did figure out who "Them" was who ordered a gross of Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts.

Are you the mysterious "Them"?

Although I'm quite sure the lap dance was more enjoyable and the tah tahs more pleasant to look at...

It is quality entertainment to follow a fat fuck in a fur coat with a bare white belly and a couple of boxes of doughnuts thru a casino. If you surf just the right distance in what has come to be known as the "GonZo Wake", you get to not only see the reaction on their faces when they notice him but hear the comments they make after he is out of ear shot.

And watching the Asian folks doubled up in laughter and saying things you can't understand when seeing him is almost as good. :P

Ok I'll bite. How do get a nickname of a nickname? :)

Elli 01-10-2004 11:42 AM

Thanks for the welcome everyone and thanks for the thread bump Serge! :) Yeah I've been known to write occasionally. I'm not sure why I waxed poetic over Krispy Kremes, but hey, you take them as they come. :) They sure did taste good! Now I wish I had been a part of the Gonzo parade! Aw man... So when's the next party? I'm almost recouperated and ready to go again!

godkill 01-10-2004 12:00 PM

Welcome Elli! I think you will have a much more productive experience than what you experienced on the SpamateurCliqueSite. As you can see I have not posted much on this board. WHY? Because I've been too busy reading and learning from the others here...which is what a GOOD webmaster board should do...and they do it well here!

Don't believe him. We are not wicked.

We're sitting around the poker table with our laptops drinking tea and eating crimpets (Low Carb).

We have been discussing what topics to bring up in Bible Class tomorrow.

I, myself, can't wait!

Now I know that they don't have Krispy Kremes in japanese restaurants, but resorting to snorting packets of Sweet N' Low really should clue you in that you've got a sugar problem, Nick :P
