Alien I agree with you. I do beleive Evan has stepped over the line with the C&Ds, and of course that e-mail to Vick, and Forest.

I think Evan realizes this as well. I am not saying people should forget... But I am saying we should let this topic die down now, in my opinion it is like beating a dead horse.

Obviously if Evan wants to continue and not let it die down, or sends off more foolish e-mails and brings his lawyers in, well all bets are off.

I hope I gave Evan some context to the boards. They are a place to talk smack - hence the insults. But it is a place to discuss business, ethics, and important issues. If he or his company are on the wrong side of them - he has no one to blame but himself.

Vick I agree with you - Spamming, and Celeb sites are terrible things... there are also some things that are WORSE that are going around that no one talks about much.

This includes some massive shaving, credit card crunchers, cross billers, beastie sites... look around there are a lot of people with dirty hands.

I have been posting for years about it, but the people with the dirtiest hands are still around and are still thiving doing the same shit...

I think Oprano should be a forum to discuss this issues, and out the cockholsters... However, I do not think you will see much light shined on the issue...

Spamming (unsolicited bulk email, I get more every day I see that as a times are getting tougher desperation move), Celeb sites ... the list goes on, you know what the problems are

Are we legitimate businessmen?

Do not want to be the torch holder not do I think I am fit to be the torch holder for any cause,
but the problems that are plaguing this industry are to be ignored, because we get tired of hearing about them?

I just got off the phone with Evan... we had a conversation that went on for over an hour, and spanned many topics. Many of the issues we spoke about were about misunderstandings.

We have decided to let things simmer down, let by gones be by gones and move on.

No one can win a war of attrition - only the attorneys.

I gave him my opinion that he needs to lighten up and get thicker skin. That insults are tossed around message boards like popcorn at a movie. We all harass one another, including friends... That is part of how message boards work. I also expressed to him that elevating it to a level beyond the baords or handling it internally was a bad move... While I can understand his frustration, moving it to a legal level was not appropriate.

I also heard about his non-profit orginization, and the work that they are doing and I think it is very exciting. Something that a lot of people will want to get involved with. This is a charity where for a minimal contribution you will see a huge impact on an individual... something that is missing in many charities.

We are also going to move forward with a Golf Tourny for Charity as well.

So as I said last Saturday, the issues of C&Ds are dead. Water under the bridge.... I think Evan is a man of his word, and will let things settle down as well.

I hope that he eventually gets thicked skin and can join our banter. I also gave him my number so anything he is concerned about something he can drop me a line and we can "Work it out!"

Well...it looks like we will have to find a new second home for all of our clients/friends/visitors.
