VoodoMan - when it comes to content theft, I am with you 100%. While we do not sell any content, we still produce probably more then any single company and have to send out at least 30 e-mails a week to webmasters who have stolen our content.

Many times we have to elevate these e-mails into certified letters from our attorneys. It is a scourge of the industry... but one that will be very diffuclt to end. :-(

Thanks for responing to my post yesterday about content theives.
No doubt about it this business has some real slimey MFers in it who will steal and cheat to make $$$, it's nothing new.
When we find out who they are we need to put them on front street and squeeze them out of business otherwise they will continue to fuck up this business.

In the current economy I don't see any of the sponsors turning down hits from where ever they may come from. I think they are trying to survive right now. "due to some of the quasi-ethical tactics I've seen employed by some of them lately."
Unfortunately they won't see that TGPs that post stolen content and napster type programs are killing their business until it's too late.

I was being funny about the 1:30,000 ratio, but if the current trends continue we may not be laughing!!!

I feel for Damnman and all other content producers but this was, is and always will be a 'scorched earth' business where nobody cares what is left in its wake when all is said and done other than how much money is in their bank account.

Your only recourse is to identify webmasters who steal your content, make sure they havw some money and/or a house, and sue them. People who steal online aren't afraid, they know of nobody that has ever had to give up their house because a content provider sued a webmaster successfully. Calling on a cyber thief's ethics and morality is a waste of time. The only case I've read awarde the content provider 1,000 or 3,000 for every image stolen. Forget which. But a couple hundred images which u can document were used illegally and you can wipe out a thief.

There are other solutions but we all know those ain't ever going to happen.

A good start would be for all sponsors, big ones should show leadership, and refuse TGP traffic completely. CJ and TGP2 traffic would still be ok, these webmasters understand that providing surfers with free quality content is a big mistake.

Free hosts could require web licenses. It doesn't take a Rhodes scholar to conclude that a webmaster who can't find 30 dollars a month for a small hosting account has found a few hundred bucks for a Fresh Photos CD.

There have been lawsuits but very few and usually the content provider lacks the will to press on with legal action and cuts a deal with the thief.

It is true that many content Licences do NOT allow TGP etc... But most providers WILL let you use custom shoots on a TGP.
And custom shoots can be cheap if you get just a stright custom (obviously exclusive is a lot more)
Most providers will do a custom from as low as $1.50 per pic
(we do $1.30) so it's not that much and hell it's gonna be better for you - coz you are the only one to have it and surfers haven't seen it a thousand times before.

If you really need pics THAT badly there are HEAPS of free pics out there - hell i even have over 150 000 FREE PICS at my content site if you are THAT desperate!!!
but pleez don't steal, and if you do you will soon be caught out and it'll be your turn to be bent over and fucked up the ass!
