A doco on discovery channel about faces showed that people (M or F) are more attracted to ppl with more symmetrical faces.

It makes sense that you would size people up - because everything about the way a person talks, what they wear, and how they act determine what group they want to fit in to. People need to belong to certain groups, and wish to be excluded from other groups. All of these factors contribute to that. So, by "sizing people up" you will probably be "right" about the person 95% of the time (2 std dev).

As a steadfast behaviorist I would say that just about everything is a learned response. But, remember the studies of what people find is beautiful. Some ratio of “average” proportions. But, that too is probably learned. As far as money and women: it would seem to make sense that women that were conditioned to be more dependant would be attracted to those men with STUFF. And those woman that were raised more independently would be the opposite, less influenced by $$$ as much as brains. Common sense I guess.
