I don't take ANY deductions, besides real estate taxes,
even though I spent $60,000 to make home office and use home for business,
as evident by State and Local Taxes
I pay,
just IN CASE to have some deductions to offset possible omissions, late payroll tax payments and all other goodies one might be in troubles with.

I treat this "non-deduction" as "IRS Insurance",
it's like death insurance, we all pay it and hope that we'll never use it
