Glad to hear you came thru it all ok Serge.
My sister had what was supposed to be a routine cholecystectomy a couple of weeks ago, but ended up staying in hospital for nearly a week. Post-op, her heart rate failed to return to normal levels and hovered around 39-41 for days. After a gazillion tests, and several cardiology consults, it was determined that she'd had a rare reaction to the carbon dioxide gas pumped into the abdominal cavity during the laproscopic surgery. Once her heart rate returned to normal levels 5 days after surgery, she was allowed home.
My mum and I were actually quite relieved that she'd stayed in so long (well, once it was determined it was nothing serious) cos with 4 kids, we knew there was no way she'd get the rest she was supposed to do post surgery...with almost a week in hospital she had no choice but to do not a damn thing.
