The have been doing this at DFW for the past year.
It was random before, but I always get selected.
They call over an agent at the counter to walk you and your bag to the xray machine. They make you stand there while they run it through.
If anything looks out of sorts, they bring you and your bag behind a little divider and take almost everything out.
The whole process without additional searching takes about 5 minutes if the line is short. If everyone does this now, the wait to get on the plane is going to take forever.
